What are reasons for getting a Thai Massage?
There are many reasons for getting a Thai Massage.
One good reason is to just zone out and go into this trance-like state that is much easier to attain in a good massage session than with any meditation technique.
In a good Thai Massage session, this meditative or ‘zoning out’ effect happens naturally.
Making a good Thai Massage experience even better
Thai Massage is not just a technique – it is an art. There are many subtle elements which are essential for creating a wonderful Thai Massage experience for your clients.
This “Tips And Tricks” video series highlights some of them for you. In today’s episode you will see how to improve your sessions by maintaining body contact with your client.
How can you experience a blissful Thai Massage session?
Getting to this wonderfully relaxed state is only possible if there is a good flow and continuity in the massage techniques, and if the therapist does not do anything extreme or painful or insensitive.
There are many subtle details which can make the difference between a mediocre and a great Thai Massage session.
One of them is how much the therapist maintains body contact. If you are receiving a session, and you are drifting off into this wonderfully relaxed state, and then suddenly you feel…nothing! No touch…no contact.
The mental movie distraction
Next…your mental movie starts playing.
Why? ‘What’s happening?’ You don’t feel the therapist’s hands anymore. ‘What is going to happen now?’ ‘What comes next?’ ‘Where is the therapist now?’
As soon as the therapist disconnects, your mind starts to engage, trying to find out the reason for the disconnect. You open your eyes to see what is going on. You are pulled out of your blissful trance state and you enter thinking mode.
The little thing that makes a big difference
All this could have been easily avoided if the therapist would have maintained body contact throughout the session.
This is a seemingly insignificant detail, but it can make a significant difference in the quality of the Thai Massage session.
It can show if the therapist is able to connect with the client or is just performing a routine sequence of techniques.
