One of the big advantages of Thai Massage is that you can use many body parts to work with. Anyone who has been practicing massage professionally for a while knows that it is easy to overuse and stress your hands. In Thai Massage you can use hands, forearms, elbows, knees and feet.
This has several advantages:
- It can be a life saver for your massage career since you won’t overuse your hands
- It gives you more power to work with on large clients
- It takes less effort on your part
If you are an experienced and sensitive therapist, you can work with all these body parts and it will feel great for your clients.
The following video is a good example of such a therapist, my colleague Ralph Marzen, who demonstrates Thai Massage with the feet in a beautiful setting in Kao Sok National Park in Thailand.
The author, Shama Kern, is the founder and director of Thai Healing Massage Academy. He has been practicing and teaching Thai Massage for 18 years, and he is the creator of 20 Thai Massage online training courses.
