Thai Healing Massage Academy is physically located in Thailand. Our websites, servers, payment processors and email service providers are all located in the United States. We operate www.thaihealingmassage.com and www.heavenlyheadmassage.com websites.
We provide online Thai Massage training courses which can be accessed online from anywhere in the world.

3. What personal data we may collect and why we collect it
If you opt into our mailing list, we collect your name and email address. This information is used to send you emails with updates about our services and products and to deliver products which you purchased from us.
We only collect the necessary information from you so that we can send you the information which you had requested, or deliver the products which you purchased from us.
As with most of the Internet, visiting our site will automatically tell us certain information about you, such as your IP address, when you visited, from which geographic location you visited, your computer’s operating system, and the type of web browser that you are using.
Such information is necessary for us to protect us from spammers and hackers. We use it to determine who is a legitimate site visitor and who is trying to abuse our site or cause us harm.
As with most of the Internet, our sites may use “cookies,” simple information in the form of a small file which the site’s server transfers to your computer. This information can be used to track your session on our site, your preferences, when you return, and other related information.
This is done to provide you with relevant information which you had requested from us. Cookies may also be used to customize the site content for you as an individual.
You can block or delete cookies on your computer at any time, but keep in mind that the use of many internet sites will not work unless you allow cookies.
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect your name and email through the comment form, and also your IP address. This information is used to weed out and block spam and abusive, irrelevant or inappropriate comments.

7. How long do we keep your information?
We keep your information as long as you are subscribed to any of our email lists, or as long as you have access to our products in order to provide you with the services which you had signed up for or purchased from us.
There are two scenarios:
1. You are on our mailing list, but have not purchased one of our products:
If you unsubscribe, we will automatically delete your personal information within 1 month.
2. You are on our mailing list, and you have purchased one of our products:
If you had purchased one of our products, we may keep your information on file, even if you had unsubscribed from our mailing list. Here is why:
- Sometimes our customers unsubscribe by mistake. This means they do not receive the product which they had paid for, and when they realize this, they want their account reactivated.
- There might be a problem with their email address which unsubscribes them automatically, even without them being aware of it.
- Customers who had purchased one of our products, and later unsubscribed, request access to lost course materials. If we don’t have their information on file, we are not able to verify their purchase and provide access to their course material again.
- We need access to customer information to fulfill legal and tax obligations. For example, we need purchase records for compiling our tax records. We will keep purchase records for 10 years.
If you leave a comment on our site, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (on our forum, for example), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile indefinitely. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
8. Who has access to your information?
Besides Thai Healing Massage Academy itself, we use services of companies to process your payments securely, deliver email communication, and provide you with access to your free or paid course materials.
Examples would be Paypal to collect payments, a memberships site where you can access your course material, or an email services provider like Aweber to send out our emails.
We only work with reputable companies who have up to date privacy policies which comply with privacy laws both in the US and in Europe, including GDPR.
We also use Google Analytics. This helps us understand what is working in our business, and what needs improvement. Without Google analytics we would be ‘flying blind’. This service helps us to customize our services based on your preferences.
The information we collect is only used for necessary business purposes. Please note:
We never share or trade or rent or sell your information to third parties for any marketing purposes.
9. How you can control your information
You can opt out of our email lists at any time. Every scheduled email you receive from us has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
If you find that your personal information is incorrect, you can ask us to change it by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you want all your information (except for information which we are legally required to keep for some time) deleted from our database, you can write to email@example.com and we will delete it.
If you want all your personal data deleted, you need to provide us with all email addresses which you have used with our site.
If you have an account on our site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

10. Risks of deleting all your personal information
Please be aware that if you ask us to delete all your personal information, you will lose continued access to any products which you have purchased since we cannot identify you as the owner or purchaser anymore.
Here is an example: Let’s say that two years ago you purchased a course from us. Later you asked us to delete all your personal information. Then your computer broke, or was stolen, or was corrupted, and you lost the course which you had stored on there. If you would contact us and ask us to replace your course, we cannot do that since we have no way of identifying you as the purchaser.
In order to ensure continued access to any products which you have purchased, please make sure that you notify us of a change in email or name. If the email address which we have on file for you is not valid anymore, it will automatically be deleted from our system and you will lose access to products, notifications, and updates.
11. The content that you provide
If you post any comments on our blog, or in our forum, or in our membership site, or if you email us at email@example.com or any other of our email addresses, you give us the right to use these comments in full or in part as testimonials or as part of our promotions.
However if at any time you object to such use, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us specifically where you want your name to be removed from our website, and we will delete it. Examples would be testimonials or quotes.
12. Security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
When you provide us with your personal information, we take steps to make sure that it is treated securely. Any sensitive information (like credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected with 128 Bit encryption on SSL by professional third-party providers who specialize in financial transactions.
You can tell if a page is secure by looking for the ‘lock icon’ which is displayed in the address bar of the browser and/or elsewhere on the site.
Non-sensitive information (like your email address etc.) is transmitted normally over the Internet. This can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.
When we receive your personal information, we make our best effort to make sure that it is secure on our systems. Where we have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our websites, it is your responsibility to keep this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. You should also choose a password which is not easy to guess, like your name, or a simple combination of numbers.
13. How your payments are processed
Thai Healing Massage Academy does not store any financial information about your purchases besides your name and email.
When you are using our secure online checkout pages, your payment is processed by a third party payment processor, who specializes in the secure processing of credit/debit card transactions. Our payment processors are all up-to-date and in full compliance with all privacy laws, including GDPR. If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, please contact us.
14. Links to other websites
Additionally, if you linked to our website from a third party site, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of that site, and we recommend that you check the policy of those third-party sites.
15. Under 16 years of age
We are concerned to protect the privacy of children aged 16 or under. If you are aged 16 or under‚ you need to get your parent/guardian’s permission before you provide us with personal information.
16. Location of your data
Our servers are located in the continental United States and any data collected will reside in our secure servers inside the United States.
If you use our services while you are outside the United States, your information may be transferred outside the United States in order to provide you with the services which you had requested or paid for.
17. The plain English short version
We are in a holistic industry where we help people get better. The owner of Thai Healing Massage Academy, Shama Kern, is a massage therapist. It is his passion to make this world a little better place by providing excellent Thai Massage education.
We are not hardcore marketers, but therapists. We never abuse your data. We don’t do anything sneaky. We don’t sell your data or share it with other marketers. We don’t send you anything that has nothing to do with Thai Massage.
We only use your personal information to run our business so that you can get the training that you want, in the most convenient way for you.
We know that all this data protection stuff sounds terribly complicated, but we have to follow the law, and that’s why it’s all spelled out in detail above.
We are easy to deal with. If you have any problems or issues, tell us and we will work it out so that you are happy.
