Hi Pornmanee, welcome to our forum and to the Complete Thai Massage certification program. At least I assume that you are posting in order to get a certificate. If so, we need your certification registration. You can find this form by clicking on the 'Certification Information' banner in the sidebar of your membership portal. This will take you to our 'Certification Tutorial'. If you scroll down, you will find the 'Certification Registration' section with a link to the registration form. Please fill it in and submit it.

What is your Thai nickname, by the way?

Also please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our Certification Checklist to make sure that it is all correctly organized:

Certification Checklist

Are you new to Thai Massage or do you have some experience with it? Are you planning on using it professionally?

Module 2 The Chi Machine

I am interested in getting a certificate. I followed your instruction for the certification registration. My Thai nickname is Pui-Fai. I am not that great in writing English, so I get a lot of help making corrections from my husband.Smile

I like learning about the correct ergonomic positions these must be really important keeping yourself focused on Thai massage technics. I look forward to trying the Chi machine and seeing if it is as easy as it looks. From my experience of getting Thai massages the massager and the client both have to feel a since of relaxation. I am really excited about learning the entire program. I saw in one of the forums that mentioned a quiz, I have not saw any quiz's.

The quiz is only for those who want to get a CE (continuing education) certificate which is a legal requirement for maintaining a massage license in most US states. The quiz is not necessary for our regular display certificate. So don't worry about that.

The Chi Machine is easy once you know how to do it. Until then, it might be a bit challenging to learn. Smile  This goes for many techniques, by the way. In the beginning, it might take you a while to 'get it', but after a while (and patience and practice) it will all flow beautifully.

You are correct, Thai Massage should be a good and relaxing experience for both therapist and client. If the therapist is doing it with lots of effort, muscle power, sweating and struggling, then it is not done right. You will see throughout this course that this is emphasized many times. Thai Massage is supposed to be therapist-friendly, not hard work.

I am glad your husband is helping you with this. I know the issue. My wife is Thai, and her English writing is also not so great. Smile

Module 3 Foot Massage 1

I was trying to log in to the forum using my email and password, the log in was the given assigned username, took a couple days to figure that out.

I thought it was really interesting about the massager's body movements and the different hand positions, at first it seemed difficult but will a little practice i started getting rhythm and my husband really enjoyed the massage, I didn't realize that there were so many different ways that you can massage someone's feet. to me one of the most important things is keeping my self relaxed so that I can stay focused on doing the proper movements.

I am glad that you figured it out.

Regarding the many ways to massage the feet, there are so many ways that we have an entire 17-module course just about foot massage. Smile

Module 4 Foot Massage 2

After foot massage 1; I thought there was a lot to learn, however with the list of 8 different ways that you can move the foot while massaging was really amazing to me. just remembering all the different movements and body positions this alone could really fill some time gaps and the way it relaxes the client makes the time pass so easily. other than remembering them all it is also a task remembering my body movements to keep myself relaxed and connected to the client. I believe i need more practice on this module to remember all the movements. My husband is really enjoying me practicing on him, he does complain about editing my portal. I don't think he mind too much.

There will be more such cases in this course where you learn how to visualize the sequences in a logical way (like the 8 ways to move the feet) to make learning easier.

As long as your husband enjoys your practice sessions, I am sure he won't mind too much editing your posts a bit, especially since you will get better and better over time with your Thai Massage. Smile

By the way, there has been some kind of issue with your email address, and it was blacklisted on October 26 by our email services provider. As a result you have not been receiving the unlock notifications for the modules or the other course emails.

Are you aware of anything wrong with your email?

Can you log into your membership portal?

I have asked our email service provider to look into it and whitelist it again so that you can receive course notifications again. But that won't work if there really is a problem with your email. I just sent you an email, and it came back as undeliverable, so there is something wrong.

Let me know please.

This is the husband; Everything on this end is working correctly, When I initially got you to change to her email the email address was missing a letter on her profile, I updated the email on her portal and her profile, her email is working just fine.  pungpong46@hotmail.com I think the g was left out initially.

Module 5 Leg warm-up

I completely understand about some people being more flexible than others as I am very flexible and my husband on the other not flexible at all. I really like what you said about not trying to do each technic in every session. I am understanding about using the whole body and not just my arms and hands, it makes everything so much easier.

To the husband: Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand why it was initially blacklisted. Once it is blacklisted, updating it does not automatically whitelist it. I have to request the whitelisting from the tech team which I did already. Now I just have to wait for them to change it in their system, and when that is done, the emails will arrive again. This should all be done within a couple of days.

Module 6 Leg warm-up with forearms

One thing for sure, these positions is a must to be on the floor and not a soft bed, I found the forearm technics to be effective and very relaxing for the client.  Getting in the correct positions and applying just the right amount of body weight will take some practice. The elephant walking is another style that will also take practicing a few times for me to get the hang of. I am really enjoying practicing these massage technics.

I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the practice!

  1. However there is still a problem with your email pungpong46@hotmail.com. I sent you two emails so far, and both bounced back as undeliverable. It says the mailbox is unavailable. Can you please confirm that this is your correct email address. Please send me an email from pungpong46@hotmail.com to shama@thaihealingmassage.com so that I can see if I receive it.
  2. Also we still need your certification registration form. You can find this form by clicking on the 'Certification Information' banner in the sidebar of your membership portal. This will take you to our 'Certification Tutorial'. If you scroll down, you will find the 'Certification Registration' section with a link to the registration form. Please fill it in and submit it. If this sounds too technical to you, please have your husband do it for you. Smile

I received your email. And now I know what the problem is. This is what your husband had written in a previous post:

"This is the husband; Everything on this end is working correctly, When I initially got you to change to her email the email address was missing a letter on her profile, I updated the email on her portal and her profile, her email is working just fine.  pungpong46@hotmail.com I think the g was left out initially."

When I just got your email, I saw that your correct email is not pungpong46@hotmail.com, but pungpon46@hotmail.com - without the g. So your email in the membership portal has the g in your email, and that's why it is not working. So now I will correct it and get rid of the g. Then our email service company can whitelist it in their system, and you will start receiving emails from the membership portal again.

I just received your certification registration form - thanks. Smile

Module #7 Leg stretches 1

I am glad we got everything figured out, I never realized the difference the way our feet lay when we are relaxed, there is definitely a big difference from the way my feet point when relaxed that when my husbands point when they are relaxed.  I see and like the elephant walking technique again. these stretching techniques really get the client relaxed and they very much enjoy it.

Module 8 Leg Stretches 2

I really enjoyed learning about the many different directions that the leg can be positioned, also the first time I have heard reference to the Hip Pie. I think that is a great way to remember all the different directions, makes it easy to remember. never realized that you could stretch the legs in so many different positions, and again we are always using our body weight instead of using all muscle.Smile

You won't hear about the hip pie concept elsewhere since I invented this concept. Smile

Module 9 Leg Stretches 3

Well, I suppose that is why that I have never heard of the hip pie, although I have heard technicians using clock positions as reference points. I totally understand the concept about different size body types, rocking a smaller person it much easier than a larger person. I like the different type stretching techniques, it takes some practice getting used to my body posture and keeping myself comfortable while also doing the proper stretches for my client. I like when you said combine power with softness. I do also believe that observation of your client sometimes is better than words.

True, observation is an important skill to develop. It can tell you a lot about your client. However communication skills are also very important, and they are covered in depth in module 35.
