Module 1

My partner's hip was slightly different in its height which was confirmed by the angle of her feet.
I circled her right knee using my left hand and cupped her heel with my right hand. It moved smoothly. Then, I worked on the other side. My partner just had a tight muscle in her hips. Overall, the course material was very informative that allowed me to identify the locations of the hips and understand how the hips work as well as the various hip conditions that could be relieved with a massage and the one that could not.

Module 2

The hip rocking techniques using hands, feet, knees were very good to relax my partner's hip muscles inward and outward.  I used my body weight to rock and try to get good rhythms going so that my partner would be really relaxed and relieved more pressure on her hips.  Also, I learned about a good hip rocking technique for men.

Welcome back to another course. However you forgot how the forum posting works. You clicked on "Add Topic" for each post. This separates your posts from your thread. After you initially set up your topic, you never click on "Add Topic" again, but only on "Add Reply". This keeps all your posts together in one thread.

I fixed it all for you by adding your second post to your first one in the same thread. I changed the topic title, and I added the module numbers to your posts.

As a refresher, please read our Certification Checklist here:

Certification Checklist

For your next post, just click on "Add Reply", put the module number on top as I did with your first two posts, and you will be fine! Smile

Module 3

The leaning technique using hands, feet, knees, and forearms worked well to massage the hip areas. I liked all of the massage body tools to massage my partner's hip, especially as she seemed to require more and more pressure than the hands could do for her. I felt comfortable while doing my massage and got good rhythms at it while using my body weight.

Module 4

I moved my partner's knee into eight positions based on the concept of the hip pie to 360 degrees. Then, I gave her a pull and let-go leg traction on both legs, which was quite powerful that I saw my partner's body move up and down. Hip Pie Slice #2 and #3 were also good techniques that are so helpful with hip stretches that my partner told me she felt really good.

Module 5

The hands, forearms, and knees worked well on my partner's thigh adductor's muscles while leaning in with breathing out and leaning back with breathing in. The blood stop technique with the forearms and hands allowed the release of the flowing sensations of my partner's thigh. Then, the hip pie slice # 4, moving up another 45 degrees by using the one-two-three-two-one that used the palm of the hand to lean it down with caution of the flexibility of the person. The circling and rocking movements helped to relax the muscles especially for a stiffed person. The medium stretch was the leaning down directly and the most powerful one was using both hands to keep both the hip and thigh down. These are good for Yogi people. It was a good massage session for my partner.

Module 6

I focused on relaxing the groin area of my partner by using the scooping and circling techniques with the fingertips. Then, started on the hip pie slice # 5 which could be a stronger stretch for some people. So, I followed the rocking the knee towards the shoulder, the leaning forwards the shoulder for both men and women, and how to stretch a larger client. The last technique was the easiest but covered the hip pie slice # 5 and #6 with the circling moves.  Those were good techniques I learned, and my partner liked pretty much all of the stretches.

Module 7

I used the rocking, leaning in, rocking side way, circling towards the direction of the Hip pie slice # 6 on my partner, which allowed me to lean closer and closer toward her left shoulder. I was careful because it could be really powerful for a stiffed person. The techniques used on the hip pie slice # 7 were so far one of my favorites because my partner felt really good about the stretches. The hip pie slice # 8 technique was not difficult for me because I have done this move before; however, the more you practice, the better you will get. The last stretching technique was the easiest for me and did cover several areas of the hip pie when I moved my partner's thigh slowly to get a better stretch.

Module 8

I positioned my partner on her side and supported her head and leg with a pillow.  Put my hands into a butterfly position and leaned toward my partner's hip using my own bodyweight in the center of the hip and areas around the whole hip. Then, I practiced the palm circling, gallop moving, squeeze-and-roll, thump scooping, thump circling, thump gallop, palm rocking, double palm rocking, circling with knuckles, rocking with knuckles techniques on my partner's hip. They were really good techniques when working on the hip. I personally will use a variety of techniques to approach the areas of attention to benefit both the client and massage therapist.

Module 9

I positioned my partner on her side and used forearm, elbow, knee, hand techniques on her hip areas by changing directions and body positions following the course video.  Those techniques were easily to follow. I was comfortable using those tools on my partner, and she was comfortable with me as well while I practiced on her.

Module 10

I worked on my partner's hip flexors. It was not too difficult to follow when I positioned her legs and leaned towards the muscles. I asked my partner to give me a number between 1 and 10 to assess her pain levels. Those hip flexors' stretches were very effective moves as my partner's tightness went down very quickly, I think. It took my partner about 2 minutes to able to handle more stronger stretches.

Module 11

I massaged my partner's hip using my heel while pulling her leg apart sideway.  I placed my partner on her side and stretched her hip by using my knee while pulling her leg back to give her a good stretch and asked her to give me a number between 1 and 10 to assess her pain. She told me that she could take stronger stretches so we continued. I followed the instructor's demonstration by pausing the course video for each stretch. It went well and my partner said, "it was really good."
