Module 21

My client enjoyed having this technique done on her since the muscle at the side of her leg was very stiff.I did it gently initially then increased in pressure since she complained of pain in that area and at the end of the massage she was very pleased. It easy to remember since you taught about doing it in lines and i try to map out the lines on the leg when i'm doing this technique.

Module 22

While doing the stretches in this module my client complaint of a cramp in the muscles by her shin so i desisted from stretching and gently rubbed the area until the cramp stopped.I had to be careful how much force was used in doing the stretches because my client was old and complaint of pains in the hip and knee joint. At the end of the massage my client was very pleased and said he knees felt a lot better and felt less discomfort while walking as there was less pain in the muscle around the knee.

You are getting good results - great! On older clients it is especially important to start gently, start with some motion techniques like circling or rocking before going into full blown stretches.

Module 23

Most of my clients complain of lower back pain.I am really happy that you taught how to massage the sacrum.I had difficulty in finding the two grooves at first so i had to look at a diagram but i think i got it now.All of my clients enjoyed the sacrum massage and said they felt really good and a lot of ease. One of my clients was obese so i had to place a pillow under his stomach in order for the massage to be enjoyable.

It always amazes me how few therapists work on the sacrum. The clients always love having their sacrum worked on.

Module 24

The techniques taught in this module were quite easy to follow and my client enjoyed it.at the beginning of the massage the muscles at the side of the upper spine were very tense and my client complaint of pain in that area.I started very gently and gradually increased pressure. At the end of the massage my client was smiling and the muscles were less tense.I had to do alot of work on these muscles because my client often complaint of pain in that area.

Module 25

While pressing on the erector muscles initially my client said they usually hurt a lot and said it felt good and asked for additional attention to that area. When i felt her erector muscles i felt the areas that had like knots or something of that sort at the places she complained that she felt discomfort. My client requested i use my elbows. She said it felt really good when i used the elbows. She didn't say anything when massaging her scapula area though but she looked relaxed.she said her lower back felt really good after the session.I was a bit nervous using my elbows so i used little pressure and then gradually increased until i became confident.

That's great that you successfully used your elbows on the back. I do that a lot. It's very effective, easy on you, and as you found out can feel very good for the client. In the beginning students are often afraid to use the elbows, but it seems that you overcame this. Smile

Module 26

My client said the massage felt good when i used my forearm on her back but when i reached the scapula, she said it was hurting. It was only then that i realized that i was pressing the bone of my forearm and changed its positioned. She didn't complain afterwards.I am really happy you taught this technique because my thumbs do hurt when i use them in massage. My client also said the horse galloping motion felt great. She said that she felt her back loosen up and i heard a few cracking sounds. My clients always enjoy sacrum massage and always ask for more. Using both hands to do different movements was really difficult n i need to work on it more because i got confused with the movements.

That's one of the biggest advantages of Thai Massage that you can replace your thumbs and/or hands in most cases with other body parts. I would have never lasted that long in my career if I would have to use my thumbs all the time.

Module 27

My client had really thick skin so it was pretty difficult to hold the skin. Her trapezius muscles were very tight and she enjoyed the attention in that area. However when doing the shoulder pulls by the scapula she had some pain so i did it very gently. When stretching the shoulder and doing the upper spinal stretch she said that she felt a release in her spine and it was great.i did the warm up percussion after and made circles in her sacrum area because she always complains of pain there and when the session was finished she said that her back felt great. :)

Module 28

Its really good to see all the techniques being executed in order.I have to think about which move comes next before i do it so i take a lot longer than you but i do the move longer so my clients don't complain. My clients enjoy the rocking butt technique but a few said it felt uncomfortable.

Module 29

Thank you for the advice on how to use and place cushions. My client used to be moving around until i learnt about the placement of the cushions. My client didn't have tense muscles in her legs but i still tried the sitting on leg technique and she said it felt good. How far away do you have to be from the knee in the furthest position.I went a bit close to the knee and my client was uncomfortable so i had to readjust myself.

My client enjoyed the attention on her legs because she often complains on the sciatic nerve. She felt a stretch in her inner thighs and felt a little discomfort initially so i reduced the stretch. At the end of the session she said that she enjoyed the entire session and her hips felt lively.

With the "sitting on the thigh" technique you only want to go about half way down the leg. If you get close to the knee, it will definitely feel uncomfortable or even painful. So move down in very small increments.

Module 30

My client enjoyed the attention on her erector muscles but when i did the thumb presses on the muscles, they were moving around. My client didn't complain but i just wanted to know if that's normal?

My client said that she felt a release in her spine when i did the spinal stretch and when i did it in the rocking motion she said that she felt some of her backbones make a cracking sound and it felt great.

The third technique took me a while to get the hang of.I had some problems balancing on my toes but eventually i got it.

Yes, that's normal that you feel the erector muscles moving around.

Module 31

I needed to concentrate a lot in order to get my coordination precise using both hands. My client enjoyed the shoulder release though. I did hear like a cracking sound as the arm went around in a circular motion. These techniques took me a long while to get and i had to practice a lot.

I know, these are not the easiest techniques. However you will find that practically nobody else knows how to do all this shoulder work in this and in the next module. The cracking is something which you will hear in quite a few clients. As long as it is not painful it is nothing to worry about.
