Completed the first module for the knee therapy. I am familar with the ligament and meniscus issues and have worked on a lot of folks with total knee reconstructions. This is a bit different. I will have to work on some of the pateller movements but see where many techniques can improve mobility of the knee structures.

Lot's more to come...

My approach is based on the Asian concept of stimulating energy flow and activating the body's own healing mechanism rather than trying to fix something which is quite difficult in the case of the knee anyway.

2nd module completed. Moving slow at the moment but study time should pick up. This is different and some techniques require a bit of extra practice to master.

You are right, this is different. Most of the techniques in this course are not something that I learned in a massage school, but they are techniques which I personally developed over years of working on clients with knee issues. I know they work, and some of my students have reported excellent results from using them.  As you say, it will take some time to get the feeling for them. Once you do, you will have something quite unique in your repertoire.

I have now completed module 3, 4 and 5 of the knee therapy program. It has some great information for those with knee issues. I have several clients I am anxious to try some of these on. One has bi-lateral knee replacements. She is actually a yoga therapy client but I am wondering how some of these techniques would work on her. Have you had any experience with knee replacements Shama?

I have never worked on someone with knee replacement, but I have a friend who went through several knee operations including knee replacement. I have learned from him that there are several kinds or types of knee replacement, some more severe than others, and that there can be massive trauma around the knee after such a procedure. While there is nothing we can do about the replaced knee, I am sure we could do  quite a bit to alleviate the trauma around the area.
