Module 1

Thank you for your post, I start during the day, but because of my job and family I am finishing latter evening at forum.

So I can see that Thai massage is not just a massage like modern western kind of massage, specialy for healing something sore or some problems, but Thai massage is working specialy more with the energy flow true the body and terapist as well need to know something more about the energy healing and flow. Thai massage is using special kind of techniques and some special tools which can be applyed in different positions, usualy or best on the mat. As well then the therapist is using some special and different kind of positions in which he can better apply techniques and care for him self of course. One special thing is that during that terapy or massage is contact between 2 people and terapist should be concentrated for healing and helping to that person. Because all the people are different during Thai massage terapist need to be always working with his body weight and take care with every pressure over the parts of the body. For me as I am working with massage table it will be harder start working and using new techniques. I start doing that preparation but it was quite sore for my feets when I sit on for longer than 3 min. or changing positions specialy on my knees. I understand that It will change latter, but I see that is much better when I am straight in my back!

I am practising yoga home for last 4 years specialy because of my job and many position which I wasnt able to do, I can do at present because of practice. As well in Thai massage there we will use specialy 4 positions, its for me simmilar because of my present work, just I will be more interested in terapist moving and positions I think. I understand there will be 2 people during massage but just one healer or artist which should know how to work with energies of bouth. That is use of all basic things of Thai massage like movements and techniques + breathing or its some kind of art how to work with energies which can heal or energizing 2 people. And that why we need to be concentrated and conected with the receiver of Thai massage.

I am starting using some usefull info during my work with people, and of course position of my spine I start watch more because that is why I was sometime realy tired past day. I see that when I am straight than I am more concentrated and feel than better and my breath is as well much better, + during some strech I try to breath simmilar during movements, and I see that the contact or feel is much better for me and client as well.

I will be back tomorow afternoon, going to have aromatherapy shower and wash out bath energies from the day Laugh

How To Keep Your Forum Posts Together

Yes, in Thai Massage it is easy to have good body mechanics so that your back does not hurt. Are you practicing the material on the floor or on a table? If I understood you correctly you are using a table, right? This makes the body mechanics a little more difficult, so you have to extra careful to find a position which is comfortable for you and does not stress your back.

Module 2

Hellou, thanks for help. It is something new, and after I log in and was looking for some writings and latter I have selected to video forum and I didnt know that I need to log in again, because there was no Add reply offer just Add Topic. Hopefully now I will be better.

So I was writing about the massage table that I am using it in my job. Home when I will practice and study Thai massage I want to train on mat of course, just I said that I will use some good tips in my job as well, specialy like strait back standing, using more body weight and deep breath or other.

Today I watched and learn using of chi machine, in start of massage. It remaind me one Reflexology teacher, he teach us some kind of shaking on the floor specialy for back pain release. I know it and it is realy wonderfool start od terapy. I did it with my wife and when she was relaxed it was realy good and she love it, than she try it on myself but she cant do it corectly. I beliewe it will in start of massage make the client more comfy and relaxed. Sometimes I am using something simmilar in my job when is client stiff or nervous, then I will shake him but just over his spine.

Thanks for your help Shama

I know, the forum takes a little getting used to in the beginning. But it looks like now you have it figured out! Smile

The only thing left is to always put the module number at the top of the post to make it easy to know which module you are writing about. I just did that for you with your last post – glad to help!

Yes, I also believe that the Chi Machine is great for starting a session. This, by the way, is not a traditional Thai Massage technique, but it fits in perfectly. It is not an easy technique, so I am not surprised that your wife can’t do it correctly. With your Chiropractic background a lot of the material in this course will make sense to you easily, I believe.

In the beginning it takes a while to get used to the Thai Massage body positions, but in the end everyone gets used to it and as an additional benefit it helps your flexibility.

Modul 3 Foot massage

Today I am practicing all first 3 moduls, it is nice and I can see as well some simmillarity between reflexology and first touch of Thai massage or other moves. What I realy like is that nice light moving and no rush during procedur. It is getting the Christmass time and maybe that why I can feel everywhere that rush energies, u know.

I am as well looking during working with people for some stiffness of the ankles or many people have flat foot or very weak muscles of the legs which are usualy from long sitting. Than they have quite sore many parts of the feet, specialy around ankles or other parts, have you any suggest that can be done specialy in the begining of thai massage with some foot reflex zones. I have one man with diabetes, and there is every touch or move quite sore for him. I see that endocrine glands and kidneys are sore everytime.

Or other question, I have as well older clients, what you suggest for moving with joints which are stiff. It is sometimes very little moving in joints and of course that ligaments are stiff as well.

Thank you for your answer and for your videos

For older and rather stiff persons the type of techniques that work best are warming moves and rocking motions. That will be covered in detail later in the course when you get to the hip area and upper body especially. For such persons, it is best to either avoid strong stretches, or at least do them very lightly and gently.

Modul 4 – Foot massage2

hellou Shama, first I would like to thank you for your reply and Thanks for the next video and some more tips and techniques for foot massage, many of your tips are very usefull for me and I can see that during the start of Thai massage is important as well some stimulation of some important reflex points.

I like working with feets but some people have realy bad and stiff feets or joints.

Many thanks, am going to practice it home just now.

good night

Foot work is great and most people love it. I love foot massage as well, and I get one about once a week, if possible. Foot problems are an epidemic these days, mostly because people are wearing shoes that injure their feet in the long run, like high heels, pointy toe boxes where the toes get squeezed together, and shoes that offer so much “support” that the foot doesn’t need to do what it is designed for.

Thanks for video from Thailand, I know that here in Middle Europe start few years ago Thai massage offering and now are the massage schools sending people for doing courses and learn all that techniques and yoga as well. People here in “modern” world are just living but forget how to care for their bodies and minds, then living in stress and using all that medicine is killing them…

Thailand is one of most beautifull parts of East.

Thanks

Modul 5

Thank you for last video, just I would like to ask you, I did years ago massage study, where teachers were still teaching us doing massaging straight in the way of muscle fibers or tendons. I see as well here that the warming is done cross the muscles. I were doing that warming up with my wife evening and it were quite sore specialy that Adductor muscle and I were doing it realy very gentle. I see that this muscle + gluteus max have many people here quite sore.

that leg lines, internal and external, are important for some organs as well I thing

Thank Shama Laugh

The focus of Thai Massage is less on specific muscles and tendons, and more on an increase or improvement of energy flow. Although some of the actual techniques for the warming of the muscles might be similar in eastern and western massage, the focus of western massage is more on a specific area of the body, whereas the focus of Thai Massage is more holistic.

You will see that there are many ways to do muscle warming in Thai Massage – compression, elephant walking, rocking, percussion…

Ideally muscle warming should not be a painful experience. However some people are very sensitive in certain areas or muscles. For such sensitive people compression techniques can be substituted by rocking techniques, as you will learn later in the course.

Modul 6 + knee balance work

Thanks for next videos I had learned and exercises. Yes for me is the most newest and most difficult work at floor and moving myself and client positioning but I like it and I like to learn new things.

Many simmilar ways I can see in my working with people and the most I have choosen that kind of therapy is because of my hard work. I need to start more using bodyweight.

Thank you

Module 7

Hellou Shama, I would like to wish you everithing the best for New Year 2018 at first.

Few days it was little bit too much people in my work but I see as well in this module many simmillar or the same moves or stretches. I am as well still doing some strech before I start release some parts of the body. It is realy important for the tendons as well. I start learning and practicing yoga 5 years ago and as well learning accupuncture lattre.

I am just looking for information how did found Thai practitioners the right kind of move, strech or stimulation of the body parts they were treated. I know that they were studied Chinese, ayurvedic or reflexology medicine, but these types of medicines didnt use musculature of the body in past as it is used at present. You were saying they use the energy channels. But they must know how to move, strech or pressure special parts of the body. I understand there is connection between internal organs as well and what I register few years is that as well¬† for example knee joint is connection to kidneys…¬†

It is quite old kind of massage, maybe it will be described in next modules I know but I am thinking.

Thanks

Of course I am as well doing myself to be healty and fresh still if I can, in winter I love to do winterise more than 7 years and yoga is realy good.

As well that video about Monks is realy interesting in cultural living there.

ThanksLaugh
