Hi!  I am new to this forum.  I am from Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

I am relatively new to Thai masssage.  In January, I took a 2-day Table Thai class in Atlanta from Margie Meshew.  It was aweome, and I've gotten a lot of great feedback from my clients.  I loved it so much I took a 2-day Swe-Thai course from her in June.  This incorporates some Thai moves and a lot of forearm rolls and such into a Swedish session.  Again, great fun and a lot of great techniques!

Now thorougly hooked, I purchased Shama's Heavenly Head Massage course.  I thought it would be a great and relatively cheap way for me to evaluate his teaching style and content before I decide if I want to let him take me further in my study of Thai massage.

I LOVED the Heavenly Head Massage courses!  It has great chest opening work and great neck stretches.  I haven't yet studied the head and face parts enough to do them in practice.  I've watched each video once, so I know they are great, too, but I don't have client feedback yet. Shama's teaching style is wonderful.  He breaks everything down so you pay attention to where every part of your body (including your breath) and your client's body is.  For example, in one of the face modules, you're carefully watching his fingers work their magic.  Then he says "Now watch it again and pay attention to where my thumbs are."

Last week I went to a health fair at a company.  Instead of bringing my massage chair like I normally do, I brought a mat.  Depending on the client, I either did a 10-minute hip and back routine I put together from Margie's classes or a 10-minute chest and neck routine I put together from Shama's courses.  I was so much more effective this way, compared to chair massage, because I could move people in 3 dimensions and get at both the front and back of their bodies.  Everyone loved it.  Since then, I have incorporated most of that 10-minute chest and neck routine into my everyday table work, and I always get great feedback there, too.

Of course, one drawback to learning through video courses is that I haven't experienced the work myself.  And I would really like to enjoy feeling it myself!  Margie takes a group to Thailand every fall to study at the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai.  I can't make it this year, but I really hope to make it next year.  Then maybe I can also squeeze in a visit with Shama so he can do a Heavenly Head Massage session on me 🙂  Meanwhile, I will continue my studies in Thai massage so it feels more natural to me by the time I go to Thailand for more intensive training.  I am sure that later this year I will be purchasing Shama's entire Thai course -- and I look forward to it!

Wow Wendy, that was a master piece of a review! Thank you, I appreciate it. And I am glad to learn a little bit about you, your work and your aspirations. I always love to hear about what happens when people buy my courses, how they use them, and how it worked for them. I am glad that it was a good experience for you and I hope I can help provide you more good experiences with my Thai Massage training - or with a Heavenly Head Massage when you make it to Thailand.
