Module 21:  I was a little confused on question 92 because I am not sure if you meant that softness was a concept applied or if you vary with soft and hard work. In all reality I believe that we have to choose when to apply soft and harder work. and I still went with the concept as your acceptable technique. I watched it three times and still feel a confusion.

Otherwise it was a great session filled with techniques that I am real excited to perform on my model.

He is sick so I will be performing the Thai on a stand in and she isn't available this week. i guess not everything goes smoothly all the time.lol.

The fall is upon us and everyone seems to getting allergies and colds.

Module 22: Again I am having trouble with the answers to question 22-5, Just when I am sure that probing with the fingers is the right choice , You closed with "ask your client how they feel" I am not trying to get perfect scores but understand what exactly you feel was most important to take away from this when taking the exams. I may be a person that always tested poorly because I tend to pull more than one meaning out of a statement. I am aware of this flaw I possess. I try to take humor in it and say I am versatile, however when taking a test, versatility is not going to help me pass . I love learning the thai massage. I am a visual learnier, pick up the techniques like second nature, and enjoy the experience of seeing people feel good by my doing.

There is nothing about softness in question 92. I think you mean question #94. Softness has nothing do with how hard you press. It refers to a quality of touch which should be applied to both soft and strong pressure.

You were on the right track with your first choice regarding question 22-5.

Module 24:  My left arm is my weakness link. I am a right arm dominated massage therapist, Unfortunately I have allowed myself too adapt to this weakness, I have decided that with learning Thai massage it will be like learning a new language. I know how to communicate and what I want to communicate . I need to now learn the body language of thai, I must learn to use my entire body as a unit rather than just piecing it together. I will learn the body language of Thai...Easy said, Not easy done

Module 25:  I am doing something wrong because I am giving myself a backache when I am doing certain moves. i thought about it and maybe it is because I have conditioned myself to use certain muscles and in learning this I have allowed my body to weaken in some areas. I am focusing in on posture conditioning. I have noticed that the pain has lessened as I am repeating the sessions.

That's an important realization. Yes, you need to learn to use your body in its entirety, and both hands equally, otherwise it will not feel right to you and to your clients.

Module 26: I am a trying to think of a way to remember what options I have without the aid of the video, This can prove to be the biggest challenge when learning a new technique. How do we remove the crutch(video) and walk on our own(massage without looking).Hmmmm...I need to peek.lol

Module27: Trapizius is the excellent go to muscles, Everyone needs it touched and everyone enjoys it, (minus a small number that I find that do not care for their neck and shoulder touched). I have some clients that seem to have minimal neck space to work with.

Module 28:  I see that the client is the canvas and I am the painter. You have given your versions for us to visualize and then paint our own pictures with as much color or little as we see fit, our hands as paint brushes stoking, stippling, and gliding as we feel we fit.

The remembering will happen automatically if you just watch the videos a few times and practice the content several times. Smile

Module 29:  I like the technique of sitting on the inner thigh. I want to feel it on a smaller person because I practice generally on a pretty solid person, he makes it easy also because he is not tall, When I practice on a tall person the session becomes more challenging

Module 30: I am also learning bamboo massage, My job came up with this idea for all the therapists. I am now trying to learn both. What a wonderfully challenging time I am having. I am enjoying the learning process. It is the memorizing steps that get confusing.

Try not to think of memorizing so much. Just follow the body. Even if you forget a whole bunch of moves, the clients will never know. And remember, the techniques are not meant to be a rigid sequence, but options to choose from.

Module 31:  Good day to you, I can't believe we are nearing the end of our sessions. I love my library of Thai learning videos I have now. I like to navigate and review. I am impressed with your teaching techniques. I hope to be a great student and create my own style now.

Module 32: Side lining is great for people that have difficulties laying other ways. I usually massage pregnant woman side lining, however, I do occasionally get a person willing to venture out of a position that they are accustomed to. They usually find that they like it, I like to use this position when a person can not lay face down due to allergies or a cold, Face down causes to face to fill up with fluids. Side lining provides the drainage they need to keep comfortable while addressing their shoulder and back

Module 33: I am a fan of the neck squeeze and the feet on the back press. Very nice!

I agree with you to end the session with laying down, If I incorporate the sitting stretches I may consider them at the beginning of my session. I am sure that applying the stretches that are not as strong may be a nice way to start.

Module 34: I really like the trapezes techniques, They are wonderful.

I am good at balancing on my toes but I seem to make them tingle because I am not used to using this position for work. I use it normally doing other things in every day life. Will the tingling eventually go away?

so far the one position I use everyday is the one that client is supine and their hand is tucked under their shoulder and I push on the elbow. Everyone likes this stretch. It is easy to interject into a massage. I am going to be practicing many moves to morrow, I have a client that has become quite the fan of the stretches in the legs. I love this all!
