Module 23

My partner absolutely loved the sacrum work! She said it felt wonderful and had never had that much work done. I was a little nervous about my transition from side to side again but I was able to keep most of my rhythm. That's the hardest part. I had a little anxiety about being completely on top of my partner with my knees in their glutes but they enjoy it and there was no pain!

If I had a dollar for every time a course student told me how much their partners liked the sacrum and glute work, I would be rich! Laugh

The only strange phenomenon is that most massage therapists never work on the sacrum/glute area. It's one of those neglected areas for no good reason.

Oh I totally work on that area on a normal basis lol I know how great it feels and how much it helps so I try to do the same for my clients!  I should add that my partner has never had a massage from me before we started this course.  I didn't want them to compare it to my normal routine lol

Module 24

That went really well. I felt comfortable with the circular motions on the back and it was pleasant for my partner. I like that the stress on my hands and thumbs will be reduced by learning this! I think I did pretty well once I understood when to move a little better but for most part it went very well!

Module 25

This went really well I feel. I'm pretty used to how the back needs to be worked being trained in Swedish massage already but the knee is obviously new. My partner real enjoyed it though and I feel like I did pretty well with my positioning.

After a while you will develop more sensitivity in your knees and then it will feel completely natural to work with them. Anything that reduces the use your hands and thumbs is a good thing. And there are lots of good options for that in Thai Massage.

Module 26

At this point in really starting to feel like the back is coming together as a whole. The horse rhythm kinda threw me for a few min but I got it after some practice. I cannot wait to put it all together! My partner is definitely enjoying this part of my learning process. Their biggest problem area is their back so this is really helping. The last technique learned was a little tricky. Hard to get my hands to do different things at the same time but I think it went pretty well.

Module 27

I lifting the arm and stretching the shoulder was a little difficult at first. I had trouble getting the arm to high and causing discomfort but it was an easy adjustment. The upper body spinal twist was fun. My partner liked it. I feel like I executed it correctly. I was excited about the cobra stretch. I think it was mine & my partners favorite part of this lesson.

It sounds like you are getting quite comfortable with the Thai Massage system, even with the more challenging techniques like the twists and the cobras. Good to hear that! Smile

Module 28

I do feel much more comfortable now!!  I was afraid I wouldn't but I'm pretty impressed with myself so far.  I still have a lot to work in as far as my rhythm but the mechanics of the stretches feel good.

This brought everything full circle for me. I always enjoy the overviews because I like to see the way you transition from place to place while working. It's helps me out a lot. I feel more comfortable in myself and skills.

Module 29

I don't feel like the inside of the leg gets worked well enough in Swedish massage so I'm glad we get to do it with Thai! Well I have a boney backside so this proved a little difficult at first. It's hard to get in just the right position to not cause pain but I finally managed to get it right. It did take a few minutes with some adjustments though. My partner loved the hip work. I found a couple tender spots but they said it still felt great and helped a lot also. I need somebody to do this to me lol

That's always the problem, how to get someone to do it on you, especially once you get very good at it and have high standards. Luckily I am married to an excellent Thai Massage therapist, so I have someone who can do it on me. (No, not unlimited free sessions, like some people imagine.

I actually pay her for the sessions, but fortunately at Thai rates which is about $7/hr). Most massage spouses would quite resent it if their partner would expect them to do free sessions all the time, and understandably so.

Module 30

My partner really enjoyed the spinal twist.  As I have mentioned before they have some lower back trouble so it was really helpful for them.  Working in the side position is helpful for them as well but they are also comfortable laying on their stomach just not for long periods of time.  I tried to do a little of both that they had a variety and never got uncomfortable.  The rocking motion of the spinal twist had me a little off but as with everything, practice made is easier.  The hip flex was wonderful according to my partner, I feel like I did pretty good with that one and ended in a good note!

Module 31

This was a little tricky for me to get it right.  It felt great for my partner but I just didn't feel comfortable at first.  I was a little afraid that I would twist the arm wrong.  After a little reassurance that it felt good I settled in with it.  I have several clients in my regular practice that I think this will feel great for.  I just want to be sure that I'm really good and comfortable with it beforehand because I feel like I could really hurt somebody.  it kinda felt like a rub your belly, pat your heard kind of thing but it went better then I first expected it to.

Module 32

I like that the was more the shoulder but that we didn't do it all at once.  It went well and my partner enjoyed it as they have every session so far.  The side position is becoming easier as did all the other positions and after the last module I feel more comfortable with the shoulder movements.  Lifting and stretching the scapula is something I usually do in my regular massage routine but getting the angle that I di with Thai makes it much more effective.  Adding the rotations is more comfortable for both also.  That last stretch was a little nerve racking at first but I went slowly and asked for a lot of feedback and it went really well!

Module 33

My first thought while watching this was that its a little like chair massage.  I see where it would not be the most comfortable position for someone who has just had part or full Thai massage done already.  I started practice with this position so that I could get a good feel for it.  I was very comfortable during this module.  I felt like I did well and my partner gave plenty of feedback.  Their neck and shoulders were pretty tight so by the end of practice they felt so much better and noticed a huge difference.

Module 34

The first stretch was a little difficult.  I had to use a different partner cause my usual couldn't be here.  She is quite a bit taller then my normal partner so it was a little difficult but I feel like I adjusted pretty well.  They felt the stretch and said it worked great.  Most of my normal clients are shorter then I am so I shouldn't have to much trouble.  My balance however is something to be desired.  It is getting much better then the start of this course though!  I caught on pretty quickly to the majority of this module and I feel much more comfortable.

Module 35!!

I'm really glad this was the last video because it really helped a lot in how to explain to people what Thai Massage is.  I have had several of my clients ask me what exactly Thai massage is and the best thing I have to tell them is that it is similar to yoga except with passive stretches.  The 1-10 method is extremely helpful and practicing it with my partner throughout the course has helped.  I feel much more comfortable and confident in myself.  I am so glad that I chose this course instead of the other online courses that I was considering.  Thai has been so much fun to learn and I cant wait to take more of your courses in the future!

Congratulations for completing the entire certification program. I have to say you really did a great job showing your progress with the material.

There are 15 more modules to come which will add a lot to your understanding and your skills.
