Module 1
So what I got from mod 1 was the tools and breaths used. I have always seemed to struggle with using the correct breaths when I need to. It makes complete since the way it is explained in the video and how important breathing really is to the effectiveness of any massage. The "tools" are exactly the ones I most interested in using. I never thought about using my knees in a massage but I cant wait to continue further into the course and learn how to use all the tools properly and effectively!
Hi Laci and welcome to the Complete Thai Massage course. I am glad you got the forum figured out - almost .
Please take a moment and familiarize yourself with our Certification Check List here:
I already fixed a couple of things for you, like the topic title and the post title. After you read the check list, you should be good to go!

Module 2
So the Chi Machine is very interesting. I thought it was going to be really easy when I watched the video but it has taken a lot of practice to get it right. The rhythm is hard to maintain for me. It seemed that the harder i concentrated the worse it got. It wasn't until I was able to relax myself that I finally got it right. Its still gonna take a lot of practice but I feel like I have the right base now. My partner reported q warming effect like stated in the video so I hope that means I was doing it correctly!
That's the secret right there - if you are able to relax yourself during any technique, they will feel easy to you and enjoyable for the client. You will hear me mention many times throughout the course that the techniques are only the first step on the ladder of what I call the "anatomy of a move".
Any technique that feels like a strain to you won't feel good to the client either. Granted, this relaxed way of working does not happen right away when you learn Thai Massage, but it certainly is the goal.

Module 3
My partner and I have just finished up. The hardest part for me was again my rhythm. The circular motions were very difficult. The concept to me is simple but it took several times for me to actually understand what I was doing. My partner is very helpful in telling me how each step feels. The foot twisting was her favorite part. I also had a little trouble with my body transitioning but the more I practiced the smoother it got. However, I still don't think that i'm always using the right body position at all times. I will watch again and see where i'm going wrong. Cant wait for the next video!!

Module 4
I just finished practicing after watching the 4th video several times. I am pretty sure I have the feet down. I continued to practice after my partner left with the circular motions just sitting on the floor and I feel like that helped a lot. After adding the last few parts of the massage to the feet I feel like it really completed them. I also feel like my transitions are a lot smoother now as well. The body positions, transitions and rhythm are the hardest part for me. However, the more I practice the better I get (which it totally the point!)

Module 5
Whoa so for a min there I was really confused! The foot block threw me for a loop but with the help of my partner I think I have it "mastered." The down pressure on the thigh was reported to feel really good. Again I just cant get over how hard some of the transitions are but I just watch the video multiple times to get it right. I did have a little trouble with the palms of my hand on the calves. I don't feel like I was quite in the right position but I think I have adjusted the problem accordingly.
Nobody expects you to "master" it right away! It's generally a matter of watching the videos several times, experimenting with the technique, shifting position, modifying pressure, asking for feedback, relaxing your body, thinking softness in your mind, and being open to creativity. That's how you will ultimately "master" the techniques.

Module 6
I have taken several days to figure this one out and it is till going to take me several more days to get it right. It has put me behind a little on posting. So I'm having a considerable amount of trouble with my positions. I do feel like my transitions have gotten a lot smoother though. I picked up on the rocking really quickly but it went downhill from there. I have improved though. The video was almost on repeat for a few days. The hardest part for me was getting in just the right position to have my leg under their thigh. I still have some trouble with that one. I'm very grateful that I have a partner that gives me such constructive criticism.
Good for you! Partners can be really helpful if they give you a lot of feedback.
If there is some part of the course or any particular technique which is really difficult for you, rather than "pushing through it", there is nothing wrong with setting it aside for a while and coming back to it later when you are more in flow with the whole system. In the beginning there are so many new and different things and it can feel like a lot to take in.
Rather than forcing yourself to learn it all right now and getting frustrated when it is challenging, try to focus on what comes easier to you, what you enjoy doing. Remember you own this course for life, and you can take months and years to improve it. It is not about perfectionism but about gradual improvement.
It is important to enjoy the learning process. So don't be hard on yourself if some techniques take a while to sink in.
There are so many techniques in this course, if you just get good at one third of them (for now), you can give a great Thai Massage.

Module 7
This session actually went pretty well for me and my partner. It covered just enough to work on but I didn't feel over loaded with information and was able to focus. I feel like I was actually able to get myself into the correct position and my partner enjoyed the stretches and had no complaints!

Module 8
I feel like im getting overloaded on information at this point so it takes me longer to post. Hip pie...my partner loved it! The stretch with my foot on their thigh they enjoyed but I had some trouble with. Im about 6-8 inches taller then my partner. Glad my arms are long! I still have issues getting in just the right spot for my body to perform the best for my partner though. Very thankful that they are able to give such good feedback. Im glad that the legs are the hardest part so my brain has time to catch up and process!

Module 9
I feel like im picking up on how all this works faster and faster once I was able to settle into the routine. I had a fill in partner for this video and they are very flexible. The power stretches worked really well on them. I am slowly getting more used to my transitions which is helping out much more. I feel smother and more relaxed.

Module 10
I started to get a little confused when the leg had to go across the body. I was confused about the placement of my knees according to the body and so on. Once it clicked things went smoother. My partner really enjoyed the spinal twist. I think things are going really well at this point but I can say that I am ready for the legs to be over with
I had all these written in a notebook beforehand because internet has been down for about a week.

Module 11
I watched this while I did the routine and it really helped my positioning and brought everything together. I feel like everything clicked once again and just kind of fell into place! My partner really enjoyed it and could really fell a difference before I did the other leg. Almost lopsided before I did the other leg! I feel much more confident about what I am doing now!

Module 12
I took some extra time to work on the legs some more and get proficient at it. I really enjoyed this session and so did my partner. After finishing the legs I feel like my technique is really coming together. I feel more comfortable and confident in myself and it seems like everything is coming together nicely now. Things are clicking faster finally. I will be starting the next module this evening and I cant wait!
Yea "somebody" cut the line with the lawn mower and it took that long for a technician to come fix it lol I live in a very rural community where my neighbors live up to 3 miles away lol
