This has opened me up to using better posture.  I like the kneeing and the rocking w breath work.

Hi Kerrie, welcome to the Thai Massage Shoulder Therapy certification program. First, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our Certification Checklist to make sure that it is all correctly organized:

Certification Checklist

I already corrected your topic title. I cannot just say 'Shoulder'. It has to identify you by name and your course so that you can be found easily (step 3 in the checklist).

Also please make sure to write about your practice experience with the course material (step 7 in the checklist).

I read your bio. Looking for new ways to save your body is a very good reason to learn and practice Thai Massage. In which country do you live?

I am looking forward to following your progress with the course! Smile

Hello I am from the US and from Boise Idaho. I own my own studio and have been practicing massage therapy for about 29 years. I’ve done everything from table Thai, Ashi and now I have moved into PNF stretching along with Thai Massage on the floor. I can honestly say I love working on the floor I have more room and do not feel like I’m restricted to the table and I feel a lot more secure and balanced on the floor.

Module 2

OK so module 2 is a little more intense a lot more to practice and understand. My client today absolutely loved everything I did on him.  I would say everything flowed pretty smoothly except the rocking will take me some time to get down I just need to remember to move my body and remember it is like a wave and a flow. My other client was a bigger man muscular man so I did have to use my forearm and back of the elbow and that seemed to work very well and helped save my hands.  I know I have a lot more modules to go through so I’m hoping I can remember how to put all this together but of course I understand that practice practice practice. Thank you your videos are very informative and I love watching them.

For your last post, you first clicked on 'Add Reply' for your first post. However then, for your post about module 2, you clicked on 'Add Topic'. This separated your post from this thread and created a new thread.

I fixed that for you by combining your two threads into one again. Please make sure to NEVER click on 'Add Topic", only on 'Add Reply'. In this way all your posts will stay together in the same thread.

Regarding your post about module 2, you can't expect to remember how to put it all together in the beginning. This will take months. But the time will come when you WILL remember everything, and then it will feel very easy! Smile

Module 3

Just practiced my module three and I absolutely loved this module. The traction seems to be the most admired by my clients. This is just a great way for me to move around a little bit and to get my clients in a more relaxed state.  Clients definitely like to help out with the arm throwing, lol. Once they get the hang of it though they seem to relax into it.

Module 4

I enjoyed all of the trap work In the beginning of module four.  Very nice to have a couple different ways to work the traps.  Also the stretching will be added to my routine for sure as I already do PNF stretching and a lot of my clients are bigger muscle mass athletes that love shoulder work and stretching.  I just need to be very conscious of my body mechanics when I’m working with bigger people.

"I just need to be very conscious of my body mechanics when I’m working with bigger people."  -  Exactly, you need to make sure to work with body weight as much as possible, use other body parts besides the hands when possible, and if a technique is too hard on you when working on a large person, just skip it. You can't help others if you don't take care of yourself first.

Great advise on Module 4 w working on someone a lot bigger and clearly a lot heavier sometimes I may just have to skip it all together.

module 5

I really enjoy the side lying position for the shoulder.  I feel like I can get into the trap a lot easier. I used it on one of my clients today. I actually was performing table Thai and had him on his side and he absolutely loved all the shoulder rotation and trap work.  The second half of module 5 I will have to do a lot more practice on as I feel like it’s pretty technical and very detailed and will need some perfecting but can’t wait to try.

Also I’m hoping to be done with all of my modules by March 27 as that is my new date for continuing education.  I hope it works out in my favor I didn’t realize that the modules would be released every two days so I figured I would be fine.  If there’s anyway you can drop the last modules in a little quicker I would greatly appreciate it but if you can’t I understand as well..  Thank you
