Module 1

This was my first time performing a foot massage. I found that it was not as difficult as I thought it would be. The clarity of your video was easy to follow. I was able to remember how to position my hands and not to use my thumb pressure but to use my body by leaning in. I started the message with the 3 (three) energy lines.  It took a few minutes to adjust to the right pressure but after the remainder of the message went very well.  I will continue to practice this module as I learn the additional modules.

Hi Jessie, welcome to the Thai Foot Massage certification program. You had mistakenly posted in the wrong forum (the introduction forum), so I moved your thread to the correct forum.

Please take a moment and familiarize yourself with our certification check list to make sure that everything is correctly organized:

Certification Check List

Practicing all the previous modules each time is definitely the best way of going about it. It sounds like you had a good start! Smile

Module 2

From the techniques in this module, the holding of the heel is my preference. However, I did need to adjust the pillow several times. In fact, it took a couple of adjustments before I located a good fit. I still need practice as to the squeeze pressure of the fingers on top of the foot and the thumb on the bottom of the foot. I was able to perform the rollout portion without a lot of practice. And I remembered the techniques from the prior module with 3 energy lines and the positioning of the feet.

You will find that with several techniques, that you have to make some adjustments until you are comfortable in the position. What works fine for me does not always work equally well for others since there are size differences of therapist and client to consider.

Module 3

This module was a bit challenging. I prefer the right lean in rollout relax then left lean in rollout starting with one hand and shift to the other, better able to flow. The clarity of your video was very instrumental in accomplishing this.  I did well with the top of the foot massage, after several video reviews. Remembering to lean in with the body is becoming easier. I am including the middle finger knuckle and the three (3) middle knuckles, it feels better and better. Also, I am understanding the importance of positioning the legs.

Module 4

I enjoyed using the elbow technique (flat surface below elbow). I must say, I did not realize that all these body parts elbows, forearm, knees, and feet could be useful when performing any type of message. But, I must say, I enjoy using them. I also see how valuable the pillows are. I feel very at ease using the forearm technique in this module. I will continue to practice the other techniques along with reviewing the video.

For me, I cannot even imagine how therapists can work year after year using only their hands and nothing else. Smile

Module #8

Practicing the techniques in module #7 has helped me tremendously in this module. The techniques of the up and down stroke of the knuckles and the power move were easy for me to perform because of module 7 and the techniques in the Thai Foot Message. I like that these techniques can be performed on a table as well. I am feeling more and more at ease as I practice the modules.

Module #9

The toe, top of the foot techniques, again, are becoming less and less difficult as I incorporate each technique into the massage regime.  Again as I practice, practice, practice the practice messages gets easier and easier.

Module #10

This summary module is great!  I enjoyed watching you perform the “suggestive message session.”   I like how you reiterated that all techniques did not have to be performed in a session. I will remember to start with a reasonable amount and add additional techniques as I go along.  Also, I am going to registering for the class that teaches head and shoulder massage.

Sounds like you are really getting better and more fluid with all this. As you said, the secret is to just practice it until it becomes second nature. After some time it will feel like you can do it in your sleep! Smile
