Thai Rocking, and other Thai modalities: I purchased a Thai mat to work on which wasn't inexpensive, but, when I began using it for clients, I quickly realized it wasn't wide enough! I found myself in a position of needing to alter my body mechanics to work around the edge of the mat. Do you have a particular brand or style which you could reccomend that is still portable? Thank you for any information.
Actually I just made a video all about the right mats for Thai Massage. I still have to edit it and will send it out to everyone on my list, so you will get it too in the next few days.
Narrow mats are not so good for Thai Massage. Here in Thailand I have two mats next to each other to give me a large work space. I know, this can be quite an expense. Luckily here in Thailand the mats don't cost so much.
What I did in the early days of my Thai Massage career is this. I bought two good quality exercise mats in a sporting goods store and connected them with velcro. I did lots of house calls with this simple set up and the mats cost me about $25 each. That was a long time ago and I don't know what they cost nowadays, but you can go check it out in a large sporting goods store.

heidi's thai rocking module 11;rocking sacrum and pushing out on erectors makes for happy backs!!! Everyone has loved this movement.i am getting more and more comfortable in my body while working on the Thai mat. I feel my body mechanics are actually better than when I work on a massage table.sideways rock 'frictioning' of erectors- love it! very effective and no stress on my thumbs!!i took a training in Soma Veda Thai Yoga massage a few years ago and was taught a technique for working along erectors line with thumbs. I never really liked it! uncomfortable in my thumbs and didn't feel effective for client.I really like the circling of shoulder, turning into upper spinal twist! Nice graduation into twist...and i have found my fingertips in a great place to do a little extra defining in muscles of anterior shoulder joint. I would like to register for CE's and take the exam. I have read the course manual and followed the link to register/ receive test questions, but I must not be going to right place... I haven't found where to pay/ register or test questions. And yes... I am a bit tech =challenged, embarrassed to say... I'm sure it must be something obvious I am overlooking. It has been a great pleasure to learn Thai Rocking from you and look forward to continuing my studies.
I just checked the CE registration page and discovered a technical glitch. The form does not show up. So I will see that I get it fixed as soon as possible. The actual registration page for the CE test questions for the Thai Rocking Massage course is:
Thai Rocking Massage CE test question registration
The registration form should show up at the bottom of the page, however it doesn't do me the favor right now. Since this is a form from a third party vendor I have no direct control over it. I have contacted their support team and I hope it will be sorted out quickly.

Thai Rocking Massage exam just completed-98%!! Loved this course and would love to see what you would do with all your creativity and experience with a client in side-lying position :). I enjoy doing side lying shoulder work, but I'm betting I could learn so much more from you. Thank you, Shama!
Actually both the Complete Thai Massage course and the Ultimate Shoulder Massage course contain lots of material for shoulder work in the side lying position.
Did you see that I published a video about Thai Massage mats? In case you haven't, it is here:
It doesn't matter when you purchased them. You can register for the CE certification program at any time. When you had originally purchased those courses I might not have had the CE program in place yet, so your course manuals won't have the registration links in them. Here you can register for any of our courses for CE credits:
