Hi Ciara,

If you go to your course manual, there is a big section about certification options. Everything is explained there in detail including a link to test questions.

Family is generally a good starting point for practice.

When you progress through the training, you will find that after a while you will be able to work very effectively with very little effort on your part. One of the main points which I am always emphasizing is to not work with muscle power, but with body weight. Thai Massage lends itself to that perfectly since you can get right on top of people which you can't do on a table. Many massage therapists have a hard time letting go of muscle effort, but that's the secret to Thai Massage.

I read in your bio that you are aiming for that, and you definitely picked the right style and the right course.

that is so true. I do try to use my body weight as much as possible but it is definitely easier when you can use your whole body. I did the foot massage on my mom and son yesterday. they really like the stretching. I am going to practice tonight on some friends i have coming over :)

Did more practice of the legs and feet today on my cousin and my son. I'm glad the course modules come every few days. I have found it pretty easy to incorporate into my busy schedule :)

I think all my students agree that the delivery schedule is about right. Any quicker, and it would be hard to keep up. To my knowledge I am the only online massage teacher who has such a gradual delivery program. Pretty much everybody else is just selling a big DVD with all the info at once, but this does not generate good practice habits, and it does not allow for an interactive learning environment like here in the forum.

Also it is very useful to be able to read what other students are doing. Actually I have never had a student who told me that he or she could not learn Thai Massage from this course. And I get to hear lots of success stories, which I love to read. It helps my own enthusiasm as well.

I watched the videos today on forearm work with the legs and leg stretches. I practiced them on my son along with the foot and other leg techniques. I like the discussion about posture in the leg stretching video.

thank you :) I have been practicing on the feet and legs with my son and my boyfriend and watched the 8th and 9th videos today so I will b practicing those soon. My mother has a hip replacement and I think the hip and leg stretches will really help her so I am going to try them on her soon as well!

Just make sure to go gentle on that hip replacement and get lots of feedback from your mother if it feels right or not.

I have been practicing the leg techniques almost every day. I am going to practice the whole thing together tonight while watching video number 11. I am glad to have all the techniques so far in one video, I think it will help me remember them while practicing the whole sequence!

Yes, that's the idea with the summary videos. Everyone likes those. There are a couple more of the summary videos coming up for the various sections in the course.

Great! Incidentally I did the longest abdominal session of my entire massage career today. 2 hours and 15 minutes just on the abdomen. The woman had not been able to go to the bathroom for 3 days. Most likely she will get some diarrhea after this session to flush it all out. Abdominal work can be very powerful.

There is lots of shoulder work in this course in several modules. That will keep you busy! Smile
