Module 12

This module felt differently. Also I got to exercise in the process while trying to keep my balance and doing knee technique without crushing anyone. I liked techniques for trapezius because most are easy on hands and fingers. Also, knowing how often there is tension and how much patients love when you give attention there. Of course, my model loves all techniques that I try on them 🙂

Either you have an easy model or you are doing a great job. I suspect it's the second one. Smile

Module 13

Hello. It was fun to follow along and check on what I remember best and what not. What techniques need more of my attention learning. It is a great recap.

"Second" part of the module was really informative. It was easy to follow, even the last technique with the knee. I've always felt that the lateral position was underutilized in massage, in general. Because in my practice I had more than one situation when lateral position would have been more appropriate then frontal position. And with this module techniques next time I will be able to help my patients more.

Module 14

Hi. I liked the techniques around the scapula because it just so happens that I currently have few patients with problems around the scapula. And additional techniques to work in this area are more than welcome. Of course, the stretch was very appreciated by my model.

I imagine that you will have plenty more patients who will benefit from all these techniques.

Module 15

Hello Shama.

Yow were right this module started with strong technique. I, myself, had difficulties trying to do this technique because of my lack of flexibility. I tried to do as close to it as possible but I wasn't  even remotely close. Another difficulty was while learning cobra and especially nr.3 my hands were constantly slipping from my models shoulders or hands. I washed my hands so they wouldn't be sweaty, and also tried to have a firmer hold on them. It got a little better but not much.

When you did cobra #3, did your practice partner hold your forearms as firmly as you did theirs? You have to tell your practice partner/client to hold the area above your wrist firmly. If you are the only one holding on to their arms, it takes too much out of you. Both therapist and client have to participate in the gripping in order for this to work (unless you have very strong hands). And then you have to take advantage of your body weight. If you try to do this with muscle power, it won't work, or at least not easily.

Module 16

Hi. This module techniques looks so useful especially if you work a desk job or bend over. There was a time when these stretches would have helped me a lot. Especially at the start of working as a massage therapist.

These techniques weren't hard to learn, only keeping my balance at moments. I think I am going to use some of those techniques for sure.

Module 17

Hello. I liked this module stretches. However, there were some that I wasn't able to try on my model because they felt uncomfortable at some positions. For example,  sitting with legs straight and without push forward/ pull back forward bend they already felt uncomfortable. So I tried learning those that are comfortable to my model. And after a few days I found other model that were more flexible and I was able to learn other techniques that the previous model felt uncomfortable with.

Module 18

Hi. My model liked this module techniques with a twist in the spine because of the stretch they felt. Some techniques they prefer more over others but in general they liked them all. I, myself, tried to follow instructions as best I could and hoped that I won't overdue and hurt them.

That's how it is - not every technique works perfectly for every client. That's why the art is to customize your sessions to the needs, body type, and condition of your client. Don't think that you have to use every technique on everyone.

Module 19

Hello 🙂  This module was easy to follow and do. I didn't have any problems or difficulties practicing on my models. My models liked sacrum on toes best. I am guessing it is because they sit all day and this technique reminds them of morning stretch.

Module 20

Hi 🙂 What I noticed and my models said to me: when I do traction (sitting) lifting when I have hold in their inner upper arm and if their t-shirts are without long or medium sleeves they feel pain/ friction in their inner upper arm and it is unpleasant. I try to be gentle and that my palms are dry but sometimes friction ends up being very unpleasant. Maybe with time I learn to do it pain free.

My models liked traction that reminded them of cradling or hugging from behind. I, myself, liked this module and different techniques of stretching.

Module 21

Hi Shama 🙂 It was fun trying child pose traction and my model liked it. When the massage hammer came in the module I was surprised because I didn't expect it to come up. However, it gave me ideas to add a similar device if needed and it doesn't have to be for my own use only but I could add it to my work. Now with all the options and variety I have learned in this course I have to create my own style 🙂 and ain't that fun ! ! !

"Now with all the options and variety I have learned in this course I have to create my own style 🙂 and ain't that fun ! ! !"  -  Yes, that's the idea of it all! Make it your own, do what works for you and your clients. Some things don't work on certain clients, or it may not work for you. You are well on your way to be intuitive and creative about it all! Smile

Module 22

Hello. I try not to get in the trap of thinking that I can heal or make it significantly better for client. I know, our big heart wants to do just that, but we have to stay realistic. And I still get patients that think that after a few massages they would be healthy. One pill heals all mentality . I try to educate them so I wouldn't get sucked in that mentality with them.

Also, I liked the "overview" of what I learned in this module with a touch of "medical situation".

Module 23

Hi 🙂 I liked this module because you can use that not only during massage but also if you have to nurse someone at home and they are too weak to do it for himself. Of course you won't climb in bed but you can use principles of technique. Also the added advice of how not to overwhelming our patients with our enthusiasm while trying to do every techniques on them.

Without a doubt I can't forget to thank you for this amazing course. It was really informative, more techniques to use on my patients, just amazing.  Thank you
