Module 31
Doing an upper body session on my partner. I mixed Supine, Prone and some of the knew side techniques as I found it very comfortable to flow. My partner mentioned that covering all areas with minimal movement made session even more relaxing.
From my view as therapist I found more comfort working working on shoulders in particular.
Module 32
Working with my partner had a few painful moments at first. Rotating the arm and scapular work with fingers. After couple days of practice and feedback during the session with my partner was able to find a better feel for the technique.
I had the opportunity to work on a friend who was unable to touch the center of his back because of weight lifting. He was really please after a few session with me to now be able to touch the center of his back.
Module 33
Fingers interlace massaging the neck was easier for me to work with. My daughter found it very pleasant.
Prior to learning technique with toes below shoulder blade while holding on hands and leaning back. I was taught to use the knee and hold shoulder then lean back. Is that technique wrong? I found your technique more comfortable to work with.
"Prior to learning technique with toes below shoulder blade while holding on hands and leaning back. I was taught to use the knee and hold shoulder then lean back. Is that technique wrong? I found your technique more comfortable to work with." - No, it's not wrong. In fact, you will see that I teach the knee technique in the next module. There are just several ways of doing similar things.
Module 34
Working in the sitting position I never really considered a key point you mentioned in this session, which is always ensuring the back is supported. Now that I think of it, I am now see how vulnerable the spine is when one is in a sitting position without back support or a solid core to hold them upright.
In cases where someone is much taller than you as the therapist. Do you slant the body to the side to get their head to rest on your thigh or just avoid that technique?
Module 35
I was recently tasked with a client who's mother is a farmer and has pain in the elbow. Only after watching this module I realize the value of what I did when I explained the benefits of Thai and the process.
I must admit I wish I had the in-depth explanation you gave on the flow of energy. Your example of the knots being like a tree in the river blocking the free flowing of water was fantastic.
Another key point I appreciate is the fact that not everyone wants talking before treatment. Some will actually do all the talking after the treatment.
