Module Eleven: I have never met a woman that didn't love a great shampoo from a cosmetologist with great shampoo fingers, myself included. But for my clients their future visits to the hair salon will be pale in comparison to what they feel during the techniques of module eleven of heavenly head. My clients haven't ever experienced anything like it prior to me doing these techniques on them. Even though one can not possibly get the same sensations and relaxations when performing massage techniques on themselves as when they are the beneficiary of a great massage from a skilled provider, I still attempt to do these techniques I am learning on myself and they still feel really great. I hope to meet someone who can offer me a Heavenly Head massage one day.
Module Twelve: As I began my massage practice and my internet search for head and facial massage I kept being directed to facials which would fall under a cosmetology license and is not a license I hold, nor intend to acquire. Finding it difficult to believe with the great number of individuals suffering from excess stress and or headaches there was not some courses on head and face massage my search continued and I am so thankful that I discovered Heavenly Head Massage. The techniques in module twelve are EXACTLY what I was searching for and the stress and headache reduction in both my clients and myself is immeasurable. Or should I say it is measurable by relief and maybe one day it will be measurable by the number of clients who choose to come to me specifically for my Heavenly Head Techniques. 🙂
Module Thirteen: My post from module twelve can also apply to module 13 in the history of my search for head and facial massage. I had previously been doing some techniques similar to some of the techniques in 12 and some circular friction on the head but what I learned in module 13 I think would have taken me months or even years to discover on my own. Giving the normally neglected cheeks and jawline area attention brings yet another dimension to my massages my clients find soothing. I absolutely love the flow of the last technique in module 13 sliding down the cheeks and at the jawline pivoting around to the back of the skull and up. This technique feels very calming and has a graceful yet effective flow and outcome for my clients.
Module Fourteen: My full time job and doing massages in the evenings doesn't allow me the time to get on the forum as often as I would like and I have been "bursting at the seams" with the desire to get on this forum and write about module 14, but wanted to catch up my other earlier module posts first. Let me just say I believe this is what I am called to do. Work with my hands and send positive energy to people. "Not from me or to me but thru me" I am in the habit of praying over my clients for healing and whatever their individual needs are. What happened with my client the other night during her full body massage as I incorporated many of the Heavenly Head massage techniques was unlike anything I've ever experienced with a client. This was the 3rd massage I have done on this client. All wonderful by her account. But increasing the amount of Heavenly Head Massage techniques and becoming better with every day of practice this 3rd massage for her took her to a deeper state of relaxation within. My eyes are very often closed when I massage, and always closed at holding, praying and energy work. I sensed she was sleeping or in an altered state at completion of the massage. I do an extremely light one finger tap midline of forehead signifying end of massage and then stand up from my chair and walk to the side of the table where I gently touch the arm of my clients at which time they usually open their eyes. This time she didn't open her eyes. Not only did she not open her eyes but three separate light taps on her arm did not awaken her. This is going to sound crazy but she seemed to be in a state deeper than sleep. I seriously wondered for a moment if she had died on my table (not kidding). It was so strange I got down close to her face at which time she awoke. She described it as feeling like she went "comatose". I normally schedule a half hour in between my clients but this lady's boyfriend comes right at the end of her massages so there is no time in between. I will change that for future appointments. I did read on the website that sometimes it takes someone 5 or 10 minutes to come out of the altered state. Please advise - should I pull my chair back and sit quietly until they awake? What should you do if they haven't woke after 10-15 minutes? I don't want to startle my clients awake. Should I turn off the table warmer? Pull back the blanket? I'm sorry this post is so long Shama - it was too amazing an experience to not describe in detail. I'm am so excited to grow my practice by incorporating heavenly head massages into my practice. THANK YOU!!!
Wow, what a great post, Diana. I know so well what you are describing since this has happened countless times during my Heavenly Head Massage sessions. Many times times clients go into this deeply altered state, and it feels like a crime to wake them up.
I never scheduled sessions back to back. When you do Heavenly Head Massage you have to factor in that clients will need some time to come out of that state. Of course this doesn't happen with all clients, but with plenty enough.
Normally, when someone is not waking up after 5 or 10 minutes, I have no choice but to do something about it. What I often did is gently use one of these wooden chimes with a metal bar that you gently strike with a little wooden mallet. That's a nice way to be woken up with a beautiful sound.
It is very apparent to me that you totally caught the spirit of Heavenly Head Massage and are doing it exactly right. I have no doubt that both you and your clients will greatly benefit from this new skill.
