Module #1

Over my years of massage practice I have had a lot of clients with Sciatica issuses. 99% of them are side sleepers and are on that side that they are having the pain. I try to explain to them that we are creatures of habit and we get in a Bad sleep position like sleeping on our side or stomach. In which our body is not designed to sleep in those positions for long lengths of time. I did notice in this module you did mention Bad sleeping positions.

Also with hands on my clients you can feel a rope like knot or Inflammation  below the Ilium area or just above the Ilium if being pinch in L4 or L5.

But like you said the Piriforms is the main issue and you can definitely feel with hands on a major knot or tightness in this area.

So much info. in this module.

Good to hear that you have a lot of people with sciatica issues in your practice whom you will now be able to help more.

Module 2

I like how you explain  Diagnostic Method the High Tec way and the Low Tec way in which the High Tec way can how us what the problem area is. But not the cause! As a Massage Therapist we are here to help our clients why they are in such pain. In which i do ask them a lot of questions in there life style. One and 1st question is there sleeping position. Which can be a factor in there discomfort.

Holistic speaking looking at the whole picture of their life. There Life style and Habits can tell me a lot about why they might be haing pin in this area. To find the pain I do Palpatiation in the painful area.

The Straight leg lift test with he quick dorsiflexion of the foot is a always in my Test.

F.A.I.R. Test is new to me as will as Toe and Hal test. looking forward to adding these to my tool chest.

Unfortunately so many therapists never inquire about their client's lifestyles and therefore never figure out what the cause of their problem might be. Just this one thing can make all the difference in Thai Massage practice, and you are totally in tune with it! Smile

Module 3

I like how you explain the vulnerable places the client may be having problems. Which is the Nerve Root in L4-L5. Makes sense. And in that does has most moving parts.

Also the Rusted Hinge thinking is a good way to look at it and the rocking Tec. is the best way to attack this way at first. I tried on my wife because she has had 2 total Hip replacements and has some stiffness in that area and she said it was very relaxing.

I'm also doing this on my table. So instead of my Heel method I tried using my forearm with my body rocking to her body motion. She also said that felt very nice to.

Module #4

In module 3 I mention I used my forearm for the rocking Tec. instead of my hands or heel because I'm on my table it made it very easy to go to your Elbow Tec.

The Forearm circling with one arm was much easier form from the table than the Elbow rolldown on L-4 & L-5.

In using the Fingertip method I found that from the table it takes a little more effort then over them. But I could put one knee on the table next to then and my other foot on the other side of them as we both on the table works great as I straddle them.

Percussion method works great this way also from the table.

Module #5

Scrum Rocking and SI Joint:  This Tec. is very interesting on the table. I can do this if my client is very small I have room to get on the table and have room for my feet and knee doing the transformation. If my client is large I can do this tec. standing from the side of table and walk around the foot of the table and try to keep the rocking going and replace my hands in the right position. BUT not as smooth as over your client as you demonstrate in the video.

Working on Buttocks and Piriforms with Forearm leaning:  Works very well from standing form side of table as well as rolling Tec. and Elbow Tecs. The Elbow Tec. is a good Deep Tissue.

Knee Leaning not as from table I can do very well. I have also used my Knee as they lay on their back bring one foot over place their foot on the side of the opposite knee flat on table kind of like a figure 4 push their leg over which can stretch their Piriforms then place my knee in their Piriforms and buttock which is a nice Power Tec. From stand from side of the tale.

Module #6

Power Tec: Double knee Leaning and Rocking on Buttocks. Very nice tec. on large clients. I remember this Tec. in your Full complete Thai video very nice with the rocking part.

The time laspie tec: I feel a good way to get in deep once you get the blood circulating and flowing well and them to take slow deep breaths you can go in very deep as they exhale using your elbow or forearm. Love this!

Hamstrings Rocking and Forearms circling again I remember this from previous videos so nice to see them again to make sure i have not developed any bad habits for seeing them before. Thank you for showing them again.

Stretching: One side lower back lift with rocking or leaning back.  I love this move i tried on my wife and with her new hips and she loves it.

Thank you Dean Samuels LMT

Not all techniques in our therapy courses are totally new and different. The real difference is that in the Complete Thai Massage course, you learn techniques in general, and in the therapy courses you learn how to use them in very specific therapeutic contexts.

Our therapy courses also go much deeper into causes of problems, the anatomy of them, self-help tips for clients, and of course there are also new and specific techniques for such problems.

Some of our therapy courses have mostly new material, and some of our courses are totally different, like the Thai Foot Massage course and the Heavenly Head Massage course. These two can be used as stand-alone modalities.

Module #7

I really like this video shows me more intense stretches after the rocking tec. With my wife and her new hips she loving the Thai massage Pigeon Pose of balancing releasing the hip joints and adding in the circling.

I have a few clients that will benefit from this. Smile

Here in the states we have tight hips and need more ways to get the hips more flexible. This is a game changer.

Module #8

This module is a very helpful one in stretching

1. Information

2. Education

3. Advice

4. Homework

I normally do the top 3 in my massage session, but Homework I do not tell them enough. This homework part is going to be a very helpful in keeping them stretched out to help them from hopefully not to have lower back pain

I'm also a Tai Chi Master been teaching Tai Chi for over 2o years and adding this standing stretch position will be very helpful in our warm ups.

Module #9

I love how you explained other ways to add to you Thai massage.

I'm very interest in looking into the Medical Qigong (Spring Forest Qigong) and if you have a on-line i can check out please let me know.

I'm also a Reiki Master and I also add a lot of my Energy work as I'm working on my client on trouble areas during my session and gert the same results as you do and they also say they felt the warmth in that area as I focus my Energy into that spot.

Guided Visualization is a very good way to get a neg. thinking person to a pos. thinking person for healing. With breathing and having them put themselves in a Good, Happy place in there mind will always be a positive result.

Now looking forward to taking my certification test.

Thank you so much I truly enjoy you on line class and helps me keep me working in my massage work.

Actually I first started to learn Spring Forest Qigong online about 25 years ago. Then I took several live classes in it as well. Here is the website:
https://www.springforestqigong.com/

I am happy to hear that my online courses are helping you in your massage work.

I replied in detail to your support ticket. If you submit a request for a new password, it should arrive pretty much instantly. Either it might be hiding in your spam folder or ask for a new password again.

I don't have access to your password, so I can't help you directly, especially since Examprofessor is a third-party business that we are just paying for using.
