Module 1

Hello Shama, as I'm writing for this 1rst module, I'm on the 5th module.

I watched the 1rst video several times and the feeling approach is the way I want to learn Thai Massage. At the end of each session I do, to follow the three steps, I select only one move and I try to do it several times flowly with my whole body and with my breath. As you say it's an art and I find it amazing to be able to learn it. I have a litlle problem with my mat, not long enough, so I'm going to choose one better.

Module 2

The Chi Machine.

Hello, I had this experience for the first time with a thai massage therapist few months ago, and I found it relaxing and I felt the energy flowing all over my body. So now I do it often on one of my sons who ask for it in the evening. He tells me that when I do the chi machine, he's going to sleep. Maybe it's different from one person to another, because when I do it on my wife, she can feel like ants in the legs only. Perhaps I can make it stronger with her.  I learned also this technique to my son and he can do it on me.

I think I made a mistake when I registered for the international certificate. I put my last name instead of my first name, and my first name instead of my last name. Is it a problem ? How can I see it and change it if that's the case ?

I figured that you made a mistake by putting your last name first, and I fixed it for you when I saw it - so it is all correct now. Smile

Module 3

Hello Shama,

Thank you for modified this.

I'm sorry for writing only now.

I didn't give news for few weeks. I did 4 courses of thaï massage with a therapist/teacher. It was important for me to do this in real (after my travel in Thaïland in 2006). I felt on my body what we can do with thaï massage. And I also practised on him  (we were only 2). I know now the power and the efficiency of a thaï massage. So I'm ready to learn more and to practise as I can. My aim is to become a thaï massage therapist.

From the middle of november I have followed the modules and I train every day at least 1 hour during the week, and 4/5 hours during the week-end.

For this module, I'm ok now. I do it often on my wife who ask for it. I did also 2 foot massage on friends, and they appreciated.

I feel quite comfortable with it.

Sounds great, with all this practice you must be getting pretty good at it by now. Smile

Module 4

Ok I understand the concept. I try to change one foot to another with flow. It's not so easy to move and to keep the contact with the person, and also to think of this when we move. I keep it in mind now and I train.

The flow will come once you are so familiar with the techniques that you won't have to think about them anymore. As long as you have to use your mind to remember and figure out how to do a technique, it is hard to get into flow - but it will come with practice and time. Smile

Module 5

I like the butterfly move. I can lean easily with this technic, and I feel it well. When I lean with my hands together, I know that I can put the weight of my body more or less, it's a great feeling.

With the rolling and pulling technic on the quadriceps muscles, I have a good feed back. But for me, the feeling in my hand were not comfortable, maybe it depends of the clothes.

When the leag is at 45 degrees, I have to put all the time a pillow under the knee.

What was the material of the clothes that your practice partner was wearing?

In Thai Massage, you will often use pillows for support if clients are quite stiff.

Module 6

Hello,

And Happy New Year ! Smile

For the clothes, it was a "training trousers", but nevermind I think sometimes we can feel a little bit uncomfortable with some clothes, it is not for all the session.

In this module 6, I like doing the rocking movement at the beginning, and it's a great feeling for the person. But after, using the forearm is quite difficult for me, especially when I squeeze between my arm and my abdomen. I'm not relaxed enough in this position. So I'm training to be more flexible.

That's a good idea. Thai Massage can help the practitioner to become more flexible - a welcome additional benefit. Smile
