Hi Daniela, welcome to the Complete Thai Massage certification program. I know computer stuff is not your strong suit!  But I will help you along. Smile

First please re-watch the second video in the Certification Tutorial (half way down the page). You find this tutorial by clicking on the Certification Information banner in the sidebar of your membership portal.

This will show you step by step how to set up your forum posts.

Also please read our Certification Checklist to make sure that it is all correctly organized:

Certification Checklist

I corrected your topic title from 'Thai Certificate' to 'Daniela Lazar's Complete Thai Massage progress notes'. I also added the module number to your post. Now you just have to add posts by clicking on 'Add Reply' (DO NOT click on 'Add Topic').

It is true, Thai Massage is quite complex with many techniques and many ways to use them. But this is what makes it so effective, so artistic and creative. In the beginning it all feels a bit overwhelming, but after a while it will all become second nature.

If you feel sore, make sure that you don't try to work with muscle power. The idea is that your natural body weight is doing the work without much effort. Anyway, I will be talking about that A LOT in this course. Smile

Yes, the circular move is the most difficult technique to learn, it will take extra time. But it is highly effective and feels great. Try to be as relaxed as possible when practicing. Don't worry about power for now, just focus on feeling relaxed and finding the right position for your body to be comfortable. Try to avoid working with muscle power. It's all supposed to come out of your whole body, not just your hands.

Module 4

I believe we can do so much on the foot thai  massage we can spend the whole entire time on the foot, i need to stay focus on the concept using the whole body is unlock in specially i have trouble focusing to learn the technique then i need to remember to breath, the foot is so complex ,bend in / out, bend up/down, twist/right/left, work the top/bottom, after i practice last nite i might admit i was not that sore.SmileSmile

It is true, we can do so much with the feet that I actually created an entire course with 17 modules just about foot massage. Smile

With that you could easily do a one hour foot massage or even longer.

Module 4 Foot Massage

Yes difficulties for sure I might say I'm less sore ,I'm trying to practice daily, but I miss a day.
Going back to this lesson leg warm up, I notice is repetition but before we master anything we
need repetition , this butterfly technique looks amazing and feels amazing.

I look at the video and a lot of the techniques are similar with our swedish , petrissage, kniding,
thumbs rolling, heel of our palm, I enjoy the side of the leg and foot massage, thai is amazing so
far, roll up along the leg, inside and out.Smile

I think you wrote your last post in another program and copied it into the forum. That resulted in a messy layout, but I fixed it for you. If you write the post in another software, try to use one that does not format the text, like notepad for example.

You are right, repetition is what will help a lot. Ideally you would repeat everything from the very beginning in every practice session. That will result in you feeling very coordinated and confident quite quickly.

Complete Thai Massage,

Home Study Training Course

Module 6-Leg Warm Up With Forearms,

This class was great, we have to stay safe and focus more on using more forearms, body weight and slowly sink in,I found it challenging on the inner thigh, challenging for me to learn the position of my body,to feel the right angle also to keep in mind to use my body weight, is challenging to use different body mechanics, feedback my patient, my husband prefers body rocking techniques,I practice this course only once I need to do more of this lesson it was challenging, I apply a small roll towel between my ankle and my heel less sore it helps a lot.Smile

The beginning of the Thai Massage training is always the hardest and the most challenging time. The positions feel awkward, you are trying to maneuver your body so that it doesn't feel strained, your whole body is not used to it, and the techniques feel strange. Laugh

But, after some time, all this will fade away, and it starts to feel more natural, more comfortable, and it will begin to flow. You just have to get over the first couple of months and stick with it.

It's like learning to drive a car with a manual transmission. In the beginning you kill the engine and the car will buck and stutter and stall. But after a while driving feels like second nature without any conscious effort.

In the same way, after some time Thai Massage will feel like a dance, like a graceful artistic way of moving which requires very little effort.

Complete Thai Massage,

Home Study Training,

Module 7 - Leg Stretches 1,

This training was great , is focusing only on stretches of the leg, warm up before, then we do stretches, using the elephant walk , the butterfly technique,if the client is to sensitive use rocking technique, use pillow on  the side of the knee to ease up the stretch  it feels good to practice the angle of the therapist is important , if is not correct there is no stretch , using the body weight, have rhythm, breath, has to be synchronize, also feedback from my patient , he stated is to deep, maybe I still use my muscle instead, over my  body balance. I  must say I feel less sore,  more relax and less stiff.  Is difficult but we have to keep practicing .Smile

Good - you feel less sore. You are on the right track! Smile

Working with muscle power is a habit which many long-time massage therapists have and it is often difficult to overcome it. But that's the secret for good Thai Massage work: More power with less effort.

By the way, there is no need for you to list what's in the video - what kinds of techniques. Just write about your experience with the material, how your practice sessions are going, and what kind of feedback you are getting.

Are you practicing on friends/family/colleagues or on actual clients?

Complete Thai Massage

Module 8- Leg Stretches

Today class was great. Leg stretches they are difficult, most of the people are not flexible, the most important is to evaluate the body condition.

Once we do that then,we can start by looking what kind the techniques will we use, the pie concept is brilliant.

On the feedback concept , some like more stretches, some they prefer rocking technique, I feel confident, I will be able to learn , with calm, practice ,is so useful for our everyday work, thank you!Smile

I am happy to hear that you feel confident about your progress and know that it will fit in well with your work. and especially that you are not getting so sore anymore. Just make sure that you work with a feeling of relaxation and use your body weight instead of muscle power - then you will be fine! Smile

Module 9,

Complete Thai Massage,

Leg Stretches,

Today class was great. Focusing only on the hip , so many variety of angles, positions of our body,  HIP is so much to do on the HIP . The adductors  muscle  are most of the time, very stiff,so we need to be careful to use first  the rocking technique ,the rotation of the hip is always a great feeling,so they can be little more relax, they are powerful stretches ,I need to stay  focus on my body balance, breathing,so I can be comfortable giving the stretch, yes I have been practicing, feedback" it feel great and relaxing".Smile

With Thai Massage we can do so much more on the hip than with oil massage because we have all these movements at our disposal. I actually created an entire course only about hip therapy for those who want to specialize in this kind of therapeutic work. Smile

Complete Thai Massage

Module 10

This class was amazing!

How many times we come across people who they are yogi, the leg stretches , hips in this class are vital having a great impact, but we need time, to master them.

I  believe are so important, always like to spend extra time , now i can add more stretches for hips, adductors, calf, and back as well.

I  practice, feedback they are so powerful !

I'm still struggle with using  my muscle, versus body weight, I  need to stay focused.

I can't wait for next class, all elements together, flowing like a river, it will be interesting, and funSmile

Great to hear that you liked this module. There will be many more similar ones! Smile

Definitely keep your focus on working with body weight and not muscle power. This will totally change the way you work.
