MODULE 16 SHOULDER

Hello , Hope all is well ! Shoulder work was fun . Took me a second to get the foot in the armpit push and pull right . My husband I don't feel was the best client for Thai while I'm in training .He has a few joint issues. I have been using my regular massage clients to help and I also liked the grabbing under the traps as long as I got my fingers in the right placement.

module 17 arms

Really enjoyed the hand slide I have been doing that technique a lot. Using the sen lines in the hand is really relaxing even for myself. I have used a few of those techniques in my practice before so that was nice and comfortable. Learning to do the hand and wrist shaking was comfortable too. Thank you for the bit about the sen lines and energy flow and not losing the essence of Thai trying to make it more Western. That's one of the things I really love about Thai Massage.

module 18 shoulder and twists

I felt this one was a bit more difficult for me .. I really need not to do this on heavy clients .My hands aren't strong enough to lift like they use too ..Like you said we don't need to do everything on everyone. Transitioning is getting easier from one side to another without interruption of the client .

module 20 prone legs

Using the elbows on the bottoms of the feet were awkward at first but getting easier now .Really nice it's lots of the same techniques just need to slow down and feel the flow with the elephant walk .I noticed I tend to rush so working on that .Thank you for the pillow tips

Module 21 prone legs 2

Once again I have used using the elbow in the hamstring and that was nice to feel more confident in some areas of things compared with the new stuff .Triangle stretch I have used before also .. I love the rocking .. Doing some of the techniques previously makes me feel like I can get more Intuitive instead of the mechanical part of learning. If that makes sense .

module 22 prone legs 3

The sitting on the gluten and lifting the legs was new and very cool . Once again I picked a small person to practice on .Using my knees to find the right spots on the gluten have been going well . I have been practicing that tip you gave us in the beginning. Bringing my knee to the ground one at a time .

I  realized how many people have S I joint problems and the clients are enjoying the new techniques thank you!The knee work is getting more comfortable on the fleshy areas for me .I have worked on the sacrum before ..just not as detailed, makes a big difference.

module 24 prone back 1

Warming of the back was pretty strait forward ..I did like the use of not using the thumbs and more palm work .One of the reasons I want to do more Thai and get really good at it .working along the erector muscles and focusing on those have been feeling pretty comfortable with .

Module 25 prone back 2

I forgot to mention the Touch subject insert in the last module .Very insightful and made a little of sense! Clean energy and no fear ! Genius! Trap pressure was cool .Friend could tell the difference from when I used just my hand compared to when I used my knee pressure..more smooth . Knee on spine didn't go well on her ..she was to boney and didn't feel very comfortable. I think when I get better I will wait on small clients and use that on broader backs. I enjoyed the gallop pace ,that was fun .Working on body awareness and soft arms still .Retraining the brain lol.

module 26 prone back 3

Looks like I got my notes ran together again with module 25 ...Still trying to stay away from thumb work and proper wrist positions. Tried the same time shoulder and neck work lol . That will take a minute but I think it will be really cool when I get it .I will definitely get more pillows.

Module 27 upper back

Knees under shoulder was a neat way to pick up the scape. It's the little things that make a difference too .My client could feel the seem in the middle of my pants and was a little uncomfortable.  I didn't even think about that ,something to be mindful about .Also placement of my fingers under her traps..I think mine are kinda boney so need to be careful on that also.

Wow, that was a posting marathon.

"Knee on spine didn't go well on her ..she was too boney and didn't feel very comfortable."  -  Don't use the knee along the spine on small or skinny or bony people. That won't work well. Best reserve this for larger and more muscular backs. It can be done on smaller persons, but it is more tricky and really not necessary for them.

module 29 SIDE Position 1

Hello ! Hope all is well . Yes I kindado the module marathon lol .I have another one ,I watch the videos take notes . When I practice  I add extra notes . Works better with my schedule,  I hope you don't mind . I liked adding the side work kinda switches things up and I can get to other body parts easier.  I am finding out what works with different body types . My smaller client the side techniques for the inner thigh was hard to sit on .Just did hand compression work. Getting into the hip joint was another technique I enjoyed from the side position also!

Module 30 side position 2

Felt pretty comfortable with the side elephant walk . Do similar work with prenatal massage . The shoulder twist was a nice addition. I was being mindful on not pushing to far down . I'm really doing good on my balance with using the knee for support . I practice doing that exercise, bring each knee to the floor one at a time .

module 31 side position 3

Love this ! Being able to really get into the shoulder warm things up with less stress on the client. The range of motion I felt was a lot better from the side also . Still getting used to using my body weight instead of just using my arm strength and rocking the client. I also noticed the peck work was more comfortable being on the side ,with gravity helping me.

Module 32 side position shoulder work

I used a really flexible client for this shoulder work. I didn't want to practice on anyone with shoulder issues. The swing of the arm to get that tricep stretch went well after a few times .I just practiced on that so I could get a good flow ,than I did the stretch . She really enjoyed the feel . I liked how I could work on the serratus muscles too . Much easier also to work the sub scapula muscles to ,able to get the fingers under without to much discomfort. Side stretch for hip flexer was challenging.  Definitely keeping that one for lighter clients . I struggled with that one..Just going to keep at it though!

Module 33 sitting position 1

Thank you for mentioning that we don't need to end with this . That was the only thing with my past Thai massage that I didn't like.  I wasn't ready to sit up right away lol. Still working on my balance with holding them up with my knees .She really enjoyed the neck part with the hands clasped together. I had a lot of fun with the feet on the back and stretching the upper body.. where exactly should I have there gaze going for the neck to stay comfortable? The upper body twist was kinda awkward for me .. I did a little change with that one ,so I could keep my back a little more upright .

module 34 sitting position 2

Really enjoyed the traction with the clients arm around my neck . Your right I'm getting more comfortable with the close contact now . I don't even really think about it anymore . I felt really comfortable with working on the neck trap and upperback ,with the client resting there arm and head on my leg. Took a second to get the rocking motion going along with the compress ,feeling good about it . My client was relaxing, I could feel there body weight release .
