Module 1
Hello I Just watched the first module. I really loved how you talked about using the breath and utilizing energy. I am a massage therapist and I have been incorporating this on my clients ..When I practiced on my husband on the floor using my body pressure and breath it was so much easier. At times it's hard not to use your muscles. Learning the new techniques have been fun and interesting. Thank you so much for this layout of your course .I'm really excited to move forward.
Module 3
Hello ! Just finished watching the Thai foot massage loved it ..Husband feel asleep ..It was kinda difficult to do 3 things at once circling the body plus pressure and moving the feet ..I was definitely trying to stay relaxed.I remember from the first module when you said ,if you stressed doing the movements the client will feel that energy also.Still trying to get the bounce right especially with the Chi machine. Will be practicing more tonight .Thank you !
Hi Heather, welcome to our forum and the Complete Thai Massage certification program. It looks like you figured out the posting process, but I always post a link to our Certification Checklist' in the beginning of all threads to make sure that it is all correctly organized:
I am glad that you resonate with the first module.
The Chi Machine is a bit tricky initially, but when you get the hang of it, it is quite easy. It will come with practice!
Module 4
Good morning, I really enjoyed the second half of the foot work .I really like the technique of pushing in the leg than using traction .I do really well on the right leg the left leg I seem to have trouble with the flow of it maybe because I'm left handed.I use these moves on my clients now to get familiar with them. Excited about the next module .Thank you !
Module 5
Hello , I enjoyed the lower leg work ...I like the compress I have done some of those similar techniques in my practice now ,so it was easy enough to pick up . The compress up the quad is one I might not be able to do all the way up the leg here in Nevada . People are a bit modest ,I believe it's because of the bad stigma of prostitution here unfortunately. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you so much!
Module 6
Hello hope all is well. I practiced more of the lower leg warm up with another body practioner . Very helpfull and got some good feed back . I really liked the pushing and pulling techniques. I had trouble with the elephant hands on the calves . Being a massage practioner for so long ,Canberra good and bad.i felt like I wanted to squeeze or than just compress and body weight. Iam still learning to not use my arm strength. Have a great day . Im not very good at writing things out. Let me know if you need more description , Thank you !
Module 7
Hello thank you for the new stretching techniques. Warming them up has definitely helped before stretching them .Kinda also helps to get them to relax and trust you not to hurt them .Using there feet as a guide for where there hips are is useful .I had trouble with my husband on the hip stretching because of his knee ,he has a few injuries so being bent was a little stressful. The pillow and lighter worked well .The second video for people really helped me I was able to get a better grasp of his heel than trying to get his whole foot . Thank you !
MODULE 8
Thank you for all the feed back ! Learning the hip pie was fun and thinking of it as in the same as feet work . All the ways the hip can move . Working on the husband really helps me work careful and slow with all the knee and back problems . I really liked the calf work I think the biggest problem I'm having is body awareness and not accidentally stepping on my client getting into position.
Module 9
Hello ....I enjoyed reading about the Sen lines ..A while back I grabbed a book about them and was trying them out ..The health of my of my thumbs can always be improved. So taking the pressure of not doing those and the chi machine was way nice ! Which I'm starting to get better with along with the bouncing.
Module 10
Hello ...Better body awareness is happening lol .. Not stepping on the husband as much ... So many moving parts to this , Watching the video while trying to do the techniques. I am breathing better and watching not to just use my muscles but the whole body ... When I tried doing the blood stop that was a little different.. I was a little nervous so was the husband .Need to practice that a bit more . Slow and steady approach is getting better .
Module 12
I love the sacrum stretch! Little hard on getting my legs and the husband to do these ones .. Hoping to find someone more flexible to practice on... Thank you for providing alternative approach to the stretch for smaller therapist like myself. Body awareness is getting better along with the elephant walk. I totally agree with the statement of not stopping if the client's feel pain and feeling you did something wrong .To find a solution to have them trust you and come back.
Module 13
I apologize, I think my module 12 and 13 notes started to collide. In the beginning working so close to clients personal space has gotten better. I don't feel so awkward working in the groin area now . Doing the finger wiggle and tendon work was good and comfortable. Love the rocking!
module 14
I like using the different methods for the women and men .. made me feel more confident and comfortable and the husband was appreciative lol ...upper hip and low belly pull was amazing!Breath is getting easier still trying to figure out the Hara .. I have been a therapist for a long time. Thank you for bringing the breath back in my practice and not just going over the techniques but really being in the moment. I was curious...in the video with the hot oil massage . He did a prayer before hand. Will we going over that as well ?
"Not stepping on the husband as much..." - That sounds like a good plan!
"I was curious...in the video with the hot oil massage. He did a prayer beforehand. Will we go over that as well?" - No, some people love such a thing, and others are worried that they are getting pushed into some religious thing that they don't want anything to do with. This is a hot potato, and I stay away from it.
Many Thai Massage therapists in Thailand say a short prayer before they start the session, but in most cases this would not go over well in the western world. I am speaking from experience here.
Module 15
Hello! Thank you for the reply and insight on the prayer. I feel much the same way as you ... Keep it separate which I think is kinda unfortunate since we deal with energy... I really enjoyed the belly work...I have been including that in my regular massage routine. I find that I can really listen like you mentioned. I can find more of their stress points and the client seems to relax faster. I now start them face up and began with that, it seems to help me connect to them. Thank you so much ... Still getting the hang of the ribcage and sternum work. Just finished watching the shoulder work ...excited to practice! Talk to you soon stay safe!
