I was skeptical about taking this course due to my thumbs but already hopeful as you provided initial information on how to help alleviate stress on the thumbs using positioning when doing the energy lines. The position of sitting on the heels seems very comfortable and love the flow of the rocking to work on energy lines.
I like the energy line technique option presented in this module, again using the body does relieve the thumbs of much stress. Using the knuckles for tools is something that I have used but often forget to use body weight, which seems key to providing good pressure and less stress for therapist!!! Love the forearm roll, completely uses bodyweight that works best for me these days.
You can trust me on this one: I will never put a course out that teaches something which puts a lot of stress on the thumbs and hands.
I can always tell the more mature therapists who realize the value of preserving their thumbs and hands by not overstressing them. I am one of those too! I have had close calls with my thumbs and wrists during my career, and I am very careful about that. This course is the most therapist friendly foot massage training you will find, especially when compared to the western style reflexology which can be really hard on the thumbs!
