Module 10
I was working with my son today, who is much larger than me. Previous to this module, I worked with him crossing his leg over his body, and I ran into the problem that you described in this module with my arm sliding off his shoulder because I couldn't stretch my body far enough. Today, I was able to experiment with using my leg to brace down his leg. He felt the difference in the effectiveness of the stretch, and I felt so much more steady, and I could also tell that my posture was much improved. My son is not very flexible, so I was able to practice the rest of the stretches in a very modified form, but in a way that felt comfortable to him and right to my body. I appreciate the ongoing encouragement to listen both to my body as well as to the body of whom I am working on.

Module 11
This module was so helpful for me to watch and to see everything up to this point put together in one flowing massage. I rewatched it a few times while working alongside it with my daughter. It certainly wasn't as smooth for me since I had to keep an eye on what you were doing next, but it did help to work a few steps behind you and work on the transitions from one movement to the next.

Module 12
I tried each of the alternative techniques while I was working on my daughter. I was surprised at just how much some of them, like the achilles tendon/calf stretch version 2, felt so much better on my body than other techniques that had the same end result. All versions of the double knees to the chest were too much for my daughter, even when done with little to no pressure. The position was very uncomfortable for her. She did tolerate the gentler version of the stretch by doing circles with her knees. I will continue to work on these same techniques, but with different-sized and more flexible bodies.
That's the secret right there - which technique or which version of a technique is right for a particular client. With experience you will learn these subtleties. Actually it's not so much learning something, but rather feeling something or observing something or intuiting something.

Module 13
I really appreciated this module because it gave me the verbiage to use with people when they are in pain. It also gave me a perspective about what it might look like if I was to skip over someone's discomfort due to a lack of confidence in myself. This is timely for me, because that is exactly what I have done with my son in previous modules when he complained about pain in the same hip flexor area described in the video. We came back together specifically so that I could work on this with him. Simply communicating my intent was confidence-building for me, which in turn made him more confident in me. It was good to work on the entire leg and hip sequence with him because he is much bigger than me, and I was challenged to experiment with adjustments that I haven't had to do with my much smaller daughter.

Module 14
I loved learning about the rocking in this module. I enjoy doing the rocking techniques more than the stretching techniques, because the flow throughout seems to go so much smoother. I spent some time working on transitioning from side to side smoothly and got to where my daughter, who had her eyes closed, said that she couldn't tell when I was moving from side to side.

Module 15
I loved the beginning of the module, with the reminder to slow down and connect with a gentle listening hand. So important. The abdominal work almost put my daughter to sleep with the first two moves: the circular movement of my hands moving around the "rim of a plate" followed by the push-pull. She didn't care for the work under and around the ribs, even with me moving slowly and working with her breath. She actually released quite a bit and let me in as I worked very gently toward her diaphragm, but she said that she just didn't like how it felt. She did enjoy the elephant walking on her shoulders, and she also relaxed and drifted off even more deeply with my hand simply resting gently on her sternum.
