Module 1 - Energy Lines on the sole of the foot/Positioning my body & open out knees and place elbows/saving thumbs by providing support/lean forward

When I was in Massage School 6 years ago, I was introduced to something similar to the technique shown in this video - except that the one point that you show was actually 3 in a straight line across the heel.  So the first "line" was drawn up the arch of the foot and the last was drawn up the outside of the foot.

I found it interesting in this video about the positioning of the body in Thai Massage - being too close or too far - does not allow for the movement to work.  And opening out the knees to help support the elbows.  I will be trying this on my husband next week when we finish the living room floor.

In the 2 days since I watched the video, I have worked this technique on 5 clients.  All have said that they liked the extra pressure that I have been using on the bottom of the feet. Two have neuropothy in the soles of the feet.  They were especially impressed as they could feel it!  I have had to modify my positioning as they are on a table and I can't climb up there with them! 🙂  I have found that positioning my elbows against my hips gives me the pressure into the client's feet.  I stand with one foot forward so that I have the balance and can control the forward movement so that I do not push them off the other end of the table!

Hi Cathy, welcome to our forum and the Thai Foot Massage certification program - at least that's what I am assuming you are doing.  If so, I have not seen a certification registration form from you which we need for our records. Could you please send one in to us. You can find the link to it either in the certification section of your course manual or on the certification page via the tab in the sidebar of your membership portal.

It seems that you have managed to adapt the course material to the table quite well. A lot of the material should work on the table although maybe not all of it. Honestly, I have not tried it myself on a table, so I will rely on you to tell me how it works for you! Smile
