Module 1: I have completed module 1 and am excited to begin learning Thai Massage. I have several practice partners of varying body types and will practice each new technique with all of them before moving forward to the next module. All of the techniques, tools, and positions that were discussed in this module I was already familiar with from massage school. I look forward to learning a new Thai massage technique in the next module.
Module 2 - Chi Machine
I have practiced the Chi Machine technique with a few partners. It has taken some practice to maintain a steady rocking motion without getting tired but I'm getting there. My first practice client was very stiff when we started but after a while, he loosened up and described feeling deeply relaxed. I can see how this technique would be helpful in relaxing the posterior muscles to assist in the realignment of the hips/spine.
Welcome to our forum community and the Complete Thai Massage certification program, Rebecca.
Please take a few moments and familiarize yourself with our certification check list to make sure that everything is organized correctly:
That's good start that you have several practice partners of various body types. Since there are so many manipulations in Thai Massage, you can't work on everyone in the same way as you can do in Swedish Massage.
Size, weight, body type and degree of ROM play a much bigger role in Thai Massage for determining how to work on a particular person. You will see that this course pays a lot of attention to those differences between various clients.
Module 3 - Foot Massage
This was my favorite module thus far. I gave and received this time and these techniques felt so good to receive. My circular body movements felt a little forced but became more natural as the video progressed. I will continue practicing moving my entire body with the hand movements. I will also need to continue practicing moving from the client's left leg to the right as it was easier to work on my left side but was more difficult working from my right side.
I hope you will beat your record by finding many more favorite modules! The very next module will put all the foot work into perspective for you.
The circular movement is a bit challenging and takes more time to master. But when you 'got it', it is a really nice technique.
