I've been practicing both table and floor Thai massage for a few years and am very grateful I came upon Shama's website for my introduction to Rocking Thai Massage. I also have several clients who experience degrees of pain seemingly EVERYWHERE.
Most recently I gained a client who is a former college football player, now in his 70's, with numerous surgeries, scar tissues and adhesions, arthritis and diabetes that made Thai compression feel as though I were navigating a land mine field, and yet he insisted he needed this bodywork for the relief he feels days after. I use what rocking techniques I retain from watching the videos along with an Oster vibrating massager to release decades of consequences and he seems very satisfied. Without these techniques I don't think I would have emotionally been able to continue working on him because of the reflexive jumps/cries/flinches that even light pressure sometimes caused. And he never enjoyed an oil Swedish massage, saying it did nothing for him.
Thank you, Shama, for your R & D that is helping me and this client.
