I am writing to confirm that I am about to watch my 4th module. It has been so great to begin practicing on family and friends, and I am excited to learn more.
I started of course with chi massage machine video. Everyone loves this move. I have practiced it on 3 people so far with great results. I am sensitive so I can also feel the energy channels opening up in this move. My hubbie is a body worker as well which has been so helpful as far as feed back.
I like his suggestions so much. First he guided me to make sure I am centered, grounded before I begin any session. Then to assist the client in this. After I started Chi machine on him he suggested I move the energy from my dan tien. Also to clear his energy field and run energy/light through him while I was working. He suggested I find his body rhythm for the chi machine which ended up looking something like a snake kind of movement. This is all helping me tune in further to gentle, subtle energy shifts happening.
Next I began to work with Lora, client number 2. I had already learned the foot massage part 1 and was eager to try it. I had her sit in a chair and I did a foot bath with some Reiki to begin, then move to the mat. The part that was the most complicated to me from this first foot massage video was the move where you have your leg under the client and are twisting the leg, pushing in and then pulling and twisting out. I will have to practice more on my husband I guess, and could watch the video a time or two more. I was also confused by how to do the foot twists in this position. I was unclear what the hand positions were.
Other than that all my clients have enjoyed their sessions, and I look forward to more practice time.
All the best,
Welcome to the forum, Angela. It sounds like you figured out the Chi Machine rather quickly. The snake analogy is quite appropriate. You will hear throughout the course that I always advise working from the dan tien (which I refer to as "hara" in this course).
Having a hubbie body worker practice for partner is definitely an advantage.
Regarding the one technique you found challenging, I am sure watching the video again will help you. Many of my students told me that when they watched videos repeatedly, they always picked up things that they had missed the first time around.
Really enjoying the 7th video regarding leg warmup with forearms, I can't wait for my partner to get here on Friday. I am booked out for the next 3 weeks with a handful of people who want to experience Thai Yoga Massage. It is such a joy to give the gift of touch to people who in this culture I feel are touch deprived. Thanks Shama for making this experience available to a stay at home mom who is thailand dreamin
Booked out for 3 weeks - that's quite impressive. You must be doing something right!
By the way, for Thailand dreaming, you might want to browse my "Spirit of Thailand" site. This will help you get many sweet dreams.
