Hello! My name is Andrea. I live in Spokane, Washington. I am currently practicing massage therapy and have been for 11 years. I have always been interested in learning thai massage.
In November of 2019 I took a 2 day course and totally loved it. However I didn’t feel I knew enough to make it a part of my practice. I needed to work on more people to really get it. Well then COVID hit and I was in shut down for a long time. I have forgotten everything! I am so excited I found this extensive course on Thai massage! I feel like I just learned some moves and a basic routine in the hands on class. However with this class I can already tell Im going to be learning so much more.
Hi Andrea, welcome to our community and to the Complete Thai Massage certification program. Please take a moment and familiarize yourself with our certification checklist to make sure that it is all correctly organized:
Thai Massage is fascinating, creative, and highly effective. At the same time it is also quite complex with many techniques and modifications. Without regular practice it is very easy to forget - at least initially. Once it is 'in your blood', so to say, you will have a life-long skill that has become part of you in more than one way.
A 2-day course is good to whet your appetite, but nowhere close to learning it effectively. That will definitely change with this course!
By the way, you registered for the certification program 3 times already.

Module 1
I have watched this module a couple times. I am noticing that i also use the body weight vs muscle in my western style massage too. I love to be on the floor so now i am trying to sit on my shins as much as possible instead of crossing my legs. I didn't realize how weak my toes are! lol! I practice all of these at least three times a day and I'm already noticing a difference.

Module 2
I have been having so much fun with the Chi Machine! The first time i tried it i got my friends body to move pretty good in the hips however she was wasn't opening up in the chest. Her neck and nose moved a little but she even said it was hard to let go in her upper body. The next person i tried to do it with was my client right after her massage. This one was AMAZING. She totally let go and relaxed. She was wiggling all over! Something really crazy happened to me too. I noticed that at first i myself wasn't relaxed holding her heals. When i stoped and took a deep breath and relaxed and started again the wave totally happened! it was a crazy wonderful feeling. I felt really loopy/kinda dizzy. lol! Was like i could feel waves going through us. Every person there after has been a different experience. I just need to remember to relax and not stifen my arms and hands. So much fun.

Module 3
This module has been a little challenging for me. The circle movement and hand change on the feet was hard. Also applying pressure on the feet in the right direction or angle was hard. My friend said she could feel in sometimes in her back so i kinda think i was doing it right. I did like doing the push pull rotate move. i used my body weight and rhythm rather than any muscle strength.
These are a couple of the more difficult techniques to learn in the course: You seem to have done great with the Chi Machine with your epiphany!
The foot technique is definitely complex because it combines several movements into one flow. Try to practice it one step at a time instead of rolling it all into one, and then gradually work on combining the various elements. And above all, be easy on yourself. There are many things that will be a bit on the difficult side in the beginning of the course. In a couple of months from now, you will wonder how it could ever have felt so difficult because by then it will have become second nature.
