You will be able to work on the yogis and on the stiff, on the heavy ones and on the light ones, and you will be able to work on the very young and the very old, in very gentle ways or more like deep tissue work. All this can be done and you will learn it!

MODULE 14

I am glad to are also teaching gentle stretches on the hips like this ones. I think rocking techniques might feel realy nice on the clients and my sister and mum realy like it. I found this hip rocking exercises easy to perform. It is gettings easier to flow with the breath and use all my body movement to perform this rocking techniques.

UIII the crossing over the client done a lot of times is like a workout for us. We realy need those hip opened and to get our balance spot on.

Rocking techniques are pretty much everyone's favorites, and they are unique to this course and our school. They are not taught much in traditional Thai Massage training.

module 15

Really enjoyed this module and all the theory around the abdominal area where our solar plexus is alocated. All the energy but also the emotions. That sentence "feeling butterflies on my tummy" makes so much sense. After all, serotonine is 90% released in our gut and only 10% in our brains. I feel that just place our hands on the abdmonial and synchronize  our breathing with clients breathing is so therapeutic already.

The chest rocking feels very relaxing too and easy to perform.

The elephant walking is starting to feel easier too.

In this lesson i understand that is not just important to synchronize our breathing with our movements, but also with the clients breath.

module 16

Who doesnt like a good and relaxed shoulder massage/stretch? I think most of us nowdays hold so much tension around the shoulders. I love that I have the opportunity to learn techniques to work on shoulders. All of the techniques felt easy to perform on my mum, just had troubles to remember how to move from shoulder rowboat to triangle with the shoulder, but sorted out when i watched again the video.

Again, the rocking, swinging and circling of the shoulder at the end was my mums favourite.

You will be amazed how much good shoulder work you will find in this course, especially when you get to the side position! You will become a shoulder massage expert!

Did you watch the video in the 'Thai Massage Essentials' section of module 3 in your membership portal? That's all about choosing the right Thai Massage mat. Also if you type 'Thai Massage mat' in the search box of our facebook group, there are several topics with recommendations and sources for mats in there.

yes i watched the video, but i only find online the colourfull mats with the lamps on them and i wonder if they are comfortable. Also to clean and desinfect they are fabric, it would be better to have one covered in some kind of material that would be easy to desinfect.

Module 17 ARMS and HANDS

I always enjoyed to offer hand massage to my friends and i feel confident with them. I had no idea of the concept and techniques, i has only done what it felt right so i feel very blessed we covered this during this course.

i am realy enjoying to know more about SEN lines and all the therapy around them.

I have no problems with this module. 🙂

I don't like cloth covered mats because they cannot be cleaned easily. I have always used the vinyl covered mats. Maybe you can check if you can get one made locally. All it takes is a piece of foam and some vinyl material to get it covered. Otherwise my friend Deon DeWet sells mat, and Shai Plonski does as well. Deon has a link to his mats in the facebook group, and Shai sells mats from his Still Light Centre Thai Yoga Massage.

hum sounds like i will need to get one done locally. Thank you 🙂

MODULE 18 -

the transition looks easier than what it is, it envolves some legs strenght and hip working from the therapist. Practice practice and all is coming.

During the spinal twists, i thing i was more comfortable with the tecnhiques we learnt in previous modules, i feel its safer for my back. I liked the version one of rotations but the leg triangle spinal twist with alternating hand pull didnt feel right, i didnt feel the flow from my breathing and movement and i gave up, as it felt intense on my back.

The 8 figure is something i will also skip if the client is heavy or big for sure, it feels realy nice and i can see how you flow with your body but i am just not there yet. I know I need more practice. as you said, i will start with the easier moves and which i feel more comfortable.

The leg triangle spinal twist with alternating hand pull is definitely one of the more challenging techniques to learn. Plus it is hard to do on very heavy people. Try to practice this one on lighter people first. Keep your back straight and make sure to work with your body weight instead of trying to muscle this move which will hurt your back. If you work on someone who is much heavier than you, just skip this move.

i finally gave a massage yesterday to one of my best friends. I set up the room, put up some music, light smell incense burning and prepare myself for 1,5h massage with the first two modules i have learnt so far.

All went very good and smooth, when it was she shoulder massage e forgot a bit of the techniques. It is on my "to do list" to go and review the module again as i think shoulders is a area in the body where people nowadays hold a lot of tension and is very important to give them atention.

I found it a bit dificult to massage the arms and hands with no oil, but she enjoyed it anyway.

A part from that, i felt connected with my breathing more than ever. i the thinking of soft hands were always in my mind. I did not remember all the times to think of the energy coming from the hara.

I am ready to move to section 3 of this course and i am very happy and grateful i am studying with your help Shama.

Thank you so much.

🙂

Realistically, you won't always be aware of your hara. The idea is to create more awareness of energy, not to be a perfect energy meditator. Smile

Thanks for letting me know that you appreciate the course. It means a lot to me!

Module 20

I first started Setting up my sister position with pillows, each one under her shoulders and onother one under her forehead. She immediatly felt amazing and said "this is how i should sleep at night!" I have experienced stiff neck after keeping my neck looking to the same side for a long period while receiving a massage and i will do my best to make sure my clients will always be comfortable during the massage. I have also been cold once, so one thing i had in hand when i gave the massage to my friend was also to keep the blanket near by.

Talking about this sole massages with my elbows, i felt comfortable doing them and my sister enjoyed it. Traction and contraction was good but she said at some point she felt it on her knee, and not on the entire hip and leg.

The calf muscle and achilles tendon stretch was simple and easy too.

When i did the elephant walking i reached to closed her knee and she said it was not comfortble, you did say to avoid knee area.. and i thought of it but maybe i need to be more carefull and keep daware of the distance.

Isn't it amazing what difference a few pillows can make! Pillows and a blanket are necessary props. I have often needed a blanket even in hot climates like Thailand. The body's metabolism really slows down during a good relaxing massage.
