Module 1

I have always wanted to try Thai massage. Massage on a table is very restricting for me. I like to stretch and do compressions. With the table I have worst body mechanics. Because you're always having to adjust the height. With thai all I have to do is move to the right position. The peacefulness and the way it looks like a dance when it comes all together amazes me. So excited to go through this course.

You are right, the body mechanics are much easier on a floor mat, provided you have decent flexibility.

Module 2

In this I found the chi machine to be easy for me. I have been kind of doing this with my clients. But found it easier when I was at their level. I have never tried this with my partner before. So at first she was felt a little silly but when I had her take a breathe and relax she felt a wave of calmness come over her. She can't wait until we try other lessons and see what what else the thai massage will lessons will bring.

Module 3

This a bit more challenging than the last. the circle one i started out slow taking it step by step. but when i put it all together the rythem wasnt coming to me. had to step back and start from the beginning again. i started to get it but still have to pratice more. and get more out of my mind and more into the energy of it. because of my short stature the ankle pull was difficult as well for me. i couldnt get into the right position. she was feeling it more in her hip than was in any part of her foot or ankle.

"...and get more out of my mind and more into the energy of it."  -  That's the perfect recipe for all of Thai Massage. The fact is that this circular foot technique is a bit involved and will require more practice than most other techniques, but once you get it, it's a great technique.

Module 4

This module clarified what I needed for module 3. I tried the techniques from the last module with the news in this module. I was flowing allot more getting the hang of it. starting to not only use my body in this one but my heart and energy. I had to find my own way of doing some of these because my body wasn't flowing. My legs are short so to do the ankle pull and push. I had to keep on having to repeat the transition a couple of times until i got the right position, so I wasn't straining myself. my longtime client offered to be my partner today. He loved the new techniques on the feet because they are always hurting him. he left the practice leaving feel no pain in the feet.

Module 5

The leg warm up was easy on one leg. Then difficult on the other leg. My right is more dominant so sitting or kneeling comes easy on one side than the other. I cant quite postion my body correctly yet. That will come easier as i keep practicing. My partner liked the calve work tho. Her calves are always hurting her. So it gave some relief to her.

That's a common issue in the beginning of Thai Massage - having a dominant side. That can express itself in positioning, or in using more pressure with one hand than with the other in two-sided techniques without noticing. The thing is that the clients will notice because it will feel out of balance for them. So this is very important to focus on developing both sides of your body equally.

Module 6

This has been the most difficult for me. I'm short and to have good position in doing anything with go on the other side of the body while I'm pinned by the leg is a no go. So I had to take those techniques and had to adapt them in a way I could still hit those spots. My partner knows me very well and when I got frustrated. She was very patient and we watched your video several times and tried to solve the solution so I was comfortable. So I started to flow better and was able not to hurt her in the process. At the end of it. I was feeling more confident in the motions.

Congratulations for finding a solution. Throughout this course there will always be situations where you need to modify something to account for differences in size and weight. That comes with the territory when you are moving people around in Thai Massage.

I just want to mention that the vast majority of Thai Massage therapists in Thailand are very small and light females. They all have to figure out how to work on much larger persons, and they are generally very successful with that, so no doubt you will be able to do the same.

You will even come across techniques that you might want to skip on certain clients, and that's okay. All this will be addressed in much more detail throughout this course.

Module 7

I still had trouble with this one. I still had to be creative and figure out what's best for me. So after that it went smoother. My partner liked the stretch with the feet the most. I felt like a cat while doing it. We had fun and allot of laughs. Still need some work on one of them. But all together I am finding my flow and loving these sessions more and more.

Module 8

In this one it took me a little bit to get a grasp of. My partners because i had two to do theses stretches. i had to figure out which ones worked for each person. that was a whole lot of fun. Having that mind set of which stretch or motion is good for which person and starting to get into a flow. it excites me every time a new module opens up. My partners love seeing what we are going to do next. One is a little taller than the other one. One is built more muscular in the thighs. The difficulty is getting less and less.

Yes, if you practice on several people, you will find how they are all different and how you need to modify what you are doing. That's the best way of learning. If you only ever practice on one person, you won't learn how to adapt to different body types.
