Module 18

Hi again,

The transition techniques the first one is easy than the other one which you go around her body from head area, but i'm practice it. The spinal techniques are very relaxing and stretching for the muscle which relief the stress pain and my partner is enjoyed it. The last technique for the shoulders it is hard to do it especially when there is big different with my body and her body, so i will keep it on mind to try it on another model.

Regards.

There will be many many shoulder techniques later on in the course, so you will have lots to choose from. They don't all work on everyone, as you are aware of by now. Working on more than one model is essential.

I know, most therapists would have never thought that you can work on a foot with your hands, your knees, your forearms, your elbows, and your feet. Laugh

Module 21

I know its long time but i have my reason at least i'm back now Smile

I found turning somebody legs is not that easy especially if that person is heavy or very relaxed, but i tried maybe after while i will get used for it.

Actually this session positions not techniques are not easy to done, it needs a lot of practicing especially when i work on the hip.

My partner really enjoyed the techniques for the hip and the stretching and she said it release her hip joint and lower back pain.

Yes, the heel to buttocks stretch can hurt people with knee problems. This technique will be felt in the hip flexors, the quads, and the knee. Like with all techniques in Thai Massage, you have to work with your client, not just on your client.

Ideally your client would have told you already about their knee issue, and in any case you should start the stretch gently and see how far you can go without pushing the limits of your client's body. You can also use the one-to-ten questioning method, or you can skip the stretch altogether if the knee issue is too severe.

It's very nice feeling techniques for clients, since i was taking it on Thai massage for Sciatica course i was found that every client i do it for her, they said it feels very nice and relaxing for performance and lower back areas.

Can i ask you, Is it ok to do Thai massage especially sacrum technique for ladies has period on the first 3 days, because i know the normal massage is better to do it after the fourth day?

ThanksLaugh

Yeah really rocking or wiggling and circling techniques are feeling better than the traditional Thai massage with using the thumb and the wrist because i studied the traditional Thai massage and i feel pain when i finish especially on my wrist, and the rocking or wiggling they gives better result as my client says.

I was using the circling techniques in the end of the treatment  on the Swedish massage before i saw you're video, it release the muscle tension.

Regarding the sacrum work during women's period -  some women bleed a lot, and they will most likely not feel comfortable with this technique during that time. Other women bleed only a little, and they might not mind.

However I would think that women who bleed a lot would not even consider getting a Thai Massage during the first 3 days of their period. That's clearly not a good time to get a massage, unless it's a foot massage or a head massage.

Module 25

It's very nice to work with forearm and effective for big people, also the elbow but in the back its hard to find the grove next to the spine so in some when i can't find that grove i prefer not to do it. For me the hard one is to use the knee because i have a very bad balance so i didn't try.

I use the back and hip massage that you teach for an old client with me which i usually use with her the traditional Thai massage and she enjoy the session and she said you're techniques is more effective for her.

Thanks Shama

Working on the shoulders especially on trapezius muscles its near to what i do in Swedish massage or Deep Tissue massage and with you're way of wiggling, circling and stretching its more effective for my client.

Thanks Shama

If you can't find the groove next to the spine easily on someone, just skip that move. On some people this is really easy to find, and on some it is difficult. It is easiest on people with well developed erector muscles. It's hard on small people with erectors which you can hardly feel.

Regarding your balance when using the knees, I am about to make a video which shows how to develop better balance for knee and foot work in Thai Massage.

Module 29

Its nice to know how the position for laying on side because i didn't know about putting the other legs with 90 degree and to supported with pillow, i found really more easier for me to do the massage and better for my client especially with lower back pain.

About me to sit on her inner thigh i can't do it i'm very scare because i'm heavy and she's not heavier than me.

My client enjoys the hip work and the thigh stretching techniques

Module 30

I want to ask you: With pregnancy woman i will use same techniques with the same positions but needs more support with pillows, and Is it better after the sixth month of pregnancy or it doesn't matter?

I always do the spinal twist on my massage but without using pillow between client legs and now when i done it with using the pillow i felt its more supporting and effective for the client. My client likes more the spinal twist with the rocking motions and hip, quadriceps and lower back stretching.

Can i ask you if someone have tied quadratus femoris muscle from one side, what techniques can i do before doing the stretching?

For some general information on pregnancy and Thai Massage you might want to read this article:

Pregnancy and Thai Massage

The answer is: It depends how far along the woman is in the pregnancy. During the first trimester you can use many of the techniques in the same positions, but in the second and third trimester you have to work more in the side position with pillow support under the belly.

For some precautions please read this article:

Thai Massage Contraindications - there is a section about pregnancy in there.

Regarding the tight quadratus femoris: The two best techniques would be rocking in the hip joint area with hands or heel of foot, and slow deep leaning with the forearms.
