I have been practicing massage therapy for six years. The school I studied at included Thai Massage in the basic 500-hour curriculum but I had nowhere to see clients with a floor mat until now. I am excited to re-learn these techniques and enhance my flow with Shama's unique interpretation of this art form. I see clients on the table for a blend of relaxation and clinical therapeutic massage. My targeted sessions focus on head/face/neck, hands/arms/shoulders/chest, ribcage/abdomen/mid back, glutes/sacrum/low back/thighs & feet/knees/lower legs. Many of the additional courses seem well suited to adding new techniques to these focus sessions. My next step is yoga, dance & fitness teacher training so that I can diversify my business for my own wellbeing as well as my client's. I am passionate about learning self-care and self-sufficiency. My primary goals are teaching others how to radically care for themselves and developing a space for living, gardening, crafting, natural building, grey water recycling, composting, animal husbandry, massage, herbal medicine, cooking, ritual, multi-aged democratic education co-ops, forestry, birdwatching, yoga and all things that nurture homeostasis in human beings. Looking forward to working with you all!
Hi Kaya, welcome to our community. Actually we have many students from Austin, and I myself used to live in Austin before I moved to Thailand 19 years ago. I still have friends and family there.
You have a great set of skills and interests to make this world a better place, it seems!
With our courses you will be in 'therapy heaven'. You will be amazed at the amount of very specific techniques to address all the areas you mentioned. The Complete Thai Massage course will give you lots of shoulder work, and if you want to go even deeper, we have many specialized courses for specific areas of the body, as you know by now.
The Heavenly Head Massage course is a total gem for LOTS of highly effective head, neck, and face work. You might want put that on your list for later.
I am looking forward to following your journey into Thai Massage therapy.
