Hi Ya'll ! My name is Suzanne Miller and I live in Dallas, Texas, USA. I'm a massage therapist in private practice since June 1997. Massage is my calling and I'm grateful to be in a healing profession.
While at Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training (July 2000), I had my first Thai massage and loved it! After yoga school, I went looking for a Thai practitioner in Dallas. When I could not find one, I decided to become one.
Since June 2001, I've specialized in Thai massage with trainings in the US, England and Chiangmai, Thailand. My existing Table massage clients switched to Thai massage once they received a session. Now, it's the only bodywork I do because I've seen it's benefits help so many people.
Thai massage has lengthened my career as a therapist because I use my feet, elbows, forearms and knees. I even feel that my feet have developed a higher sensitivity to touch! I enjoy giving the 2 hour treatments which give ample time to massage the client's entire body as well as addressing a specific issue.
Recently, I have been searching for advanced classes to incorporate new techniques into sessions. I chose the Thai Massage for Sciatica because I want to expand my knowledge of sciatica, piriformis and low back treatments. Also, this course will add another level of credentials to my practice.
Excited to train with Shama! Thank you for your teachings and wisdom. 🙂
Hi Suzanne, your background is very similar to mine. In my case, I would have lost my career a long time ago if I wouldn't have been able to use other body parts besides my hands.
I have done Thai Massage exclusively for 20 years, and my main focus has always been on specific therapeutic applications. That's what inspired me to create all these therapy courses. You could find lots of nuggets in them for your practice!
