Hi everyone,
This is Shék from the sunny island of Curaçao in the southern Caribbean. I just signed up for the complete Thai massage course and am looking forward to learning something new. My wife's a physician and is a big believer in holistic treatment, including using massage, yoga and ayurvedic techniques. We visited Thailand (including Chiang Mai) in 2013 and thought that Thai massage fits very well into our overall health approach. So here I am, ready to get started! Looking forward to expanding my horizons.
Cheers!
Hi Shek, welcome to our forum. I am glad to hear that your wife is a physician AND a believer in holistic treatments. That's a rare combination, and a very positive one.
You are the first course student from Curacao, actually the first person from Curacao I have ever come in contact with. Curacao is a country, is this correct? What's the official language there?

Thanks Shama. Curaçao is a country in the southern Caribbean that is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. We are part of the ABC chain of islands (Aruba, Curacao & Bonaire). Our local language is Papiamento, which is a sort of creole with roots is Portuguese, Spanish, and some West African dialects. Check out Curaçao.com for more information -- it's a lovely place. And people are quite interested in Thai massage here because of the historic ties between the Netherlands and Indonesia, where there are lots of practitioners. Hopefully I can help spread the word.
sunny regards,
shék
