Hi everyone, i am from Sudbury Ontario Canada. I would love to take the Tai Massage course soon, but i need to find out first if the certificate will be recognized here. From what i read in Toronto you need a holistic Practitioners License to practice tai massage, i cant find any info for my town yet. Anyways hopefully i will be able to join the class soon.

Have a wonderful day :)

Hello from Windsor, Ontario

Thai massage is not provincially or federally regulated in canada, however, some not all municipalities have regulations in place requiring a practitioner to get a license to practice in their city. In Toronto and in Windsor a license is required but if i drive 15 mins east to Tecumseh a license is not required. I would recommend calling your city office and asking if a license is needed. Regardless i would definitely recommend this course, your family and friends will love you for it.

Hi Shama, Danke , and I am going to take the course.  It turns out I do not need a license here in my city.  I am really looking forward to learning Thai Massage.  I am currently a Reiki practitioner and think this would be a wonderful option for my clients as well.

Are you German Joanna? Your last name sounds very German. As you seem to know, I grew up in Germany although I left there over 35 years ago.

That’s great that the licencing won’t be an obstacle for you. So I am looking forward to working with you when you come on board with the Thai Massage course! Smile You will find quite a few concepts which resonate very well with your energy work.

I was born in Canada but both my parents immigrated here from Germany so yes my last name is German  🙂 I must say your accent  in the free videos is very comforting to me lol.

I am ready to come aboard and take the course now and look forward to learning thai massage.

One question though, is this safe for elderly people with diabetes and circulation problems? or should i just stick to reiki for them?

Hi Shama, I just enrolled in the Thai Massage course.  I got the  manual and read it. I was wondering though if the videos stop for Christmas?  I dont want to fall behind but with guests coming from out of town I’m not sure if I will be able to practice daily during the holidays. I wont have a problem after the holidays, if they cannot be put on hold during Christmas I’ll figure it out.

I can put the video delivery on hold whenever you ask me to, no problem. And then you just let me know when you want to continue.

Thai Massage can easily be done on elderly people with diabetes and circulation problems. It just depends on how you do it. Thai Massage can be done vigorously with lots of stretches and it can be done very gently without any stretches. However this will take some time to learn. You will see that there is lots to learn, so in the beginning I would not try to practice the techniques on elderly people with problems. But at a later date you will easily be able to do that.

I have worked on many older clients. One of the biggest misconceptions about Thai Massage is that it is a never-ending sequence of power stretches. This is just not true. It can be done very gently.

Weird…. i posted a reply earlier today but it didn’t publish… anyways Thank you Shama for allowing me to put the videos on hold. If we could start the hold on December 20th and restart on the 4th of january that would be great.

again thank you.
