I'm Vera from a little village in the Provence called Entrecasteaux (in France).
I own a tiny studio where I give thai massage & yoga courses.
I'm also an herbalist.
I'm really happy to be here, I just started the Complete Thai Massage course and I think that's exactly what I was searching for to improve my activity.

Your name sounds more German than French. Did you move to France from somewhere else?

Indeed my name is german because my father comes from Germany and my mother from the Czech Republic.
But I grow up in Algeria (long story) and I am in France since I was 10 years old.
So I don't really feel german, also because french is my native language.
And you from where are you before Thailand ?
Are you still in Istanbul right now ?
So many questions...
and it's just the beginning !

Offline Also long story here... I was born and grew up in Germany but left there when I was 20 years old. I then lived in several European countries and ended up moving to the US and became a naturalized US citizen.
Later I moved to Thailand and lived there for 20 years, and this year my wife and I got trapped in the COVID situation and kind of became COVID 'refugees'. As you know, for the time being we are in Turkey, but on the Mediterranean coast now, not in in Istanbul anymore.

Offline yes I read your incredible story on Facebook, you can really write a book about your "COVID story"...
Did you find at least a place to settle down for a while ? Must be nice on the Mediterranean coast.
But I can imagine even the nicest place in the world will never replace home or the place you want to be...

Offline Under the circumstances we are in a pretty nice place in a small town on the coast. But you are right, it was not really our choice, however we might end up feeling at home here. It is very difficult to make decisions since everything in the world is changing so quickly, so we will just have to wait and see. A return to Thailand is not in the cards for the time being because of their extremely restrictive COVID rules.
