Hello! I’m James, and I am a yoga teacher. I have been practicing yoga for about 5 years, I taught yoga for about a year and a half at my University’s Campus Recreation Center. I just recently stopped because I graduated (B.S. Kinesiology & Exercise Science).
The experience I have with Thai Massage is relatively limited.. I’ve gone to two 50-hour AcroYoga “Lunar” immersions, where about 25 of those hours were dedicated to Thai Massage — so about 50 total hours of in-person Thai Massage training. I live in Texas in the United States, but I’m about to begin traveling all around Southeast Asia, starting off in India. My goal is to learn more about different movement arts, like yoga, thai massage, tai chi, etc.. and share what I learn utilizing social media.
I enrolled in this course so that I can maintain a constant, relevant source of education as I travel. I truly hope that someday I can meet Shama in Thailand!
Hi James, welcome to our community! I see you are from San Antonio. That’s not far from my previous home town of Austin before I moved to Thailand.
You have the perfect background for this course with your yoga and acro yoga experience. Actually we have many yoga teachers here in the forum, so you are in good company!
This course will give you a very in depth exposure to all things Thai Massage, and I am sure it will be a good companion for you on your travels. If you ever make it to Thailand, make sure to drop me a line. Anyway, since you enrolled in the certification program, we will be in touch regularly for the next few months.
