Hi Shama,

Finally I have begun my practical part of the Complete Thai massage course…. YAY!! (it has been a bit tricky, being a single mum of three and teaching yoga classes too!!, so apologies if I don’t get to the forum daily!)

I have completed modules 1- 5 and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I love how Thai massage works on an energetic level, as that is how I massage! I completed a Diploma in Health Science and Massage in 2002 which included Deep tissue, trigger point therapy, remedial and sports massage. But it is so refreshing to revisit massage focusing on the energetic approach.

The ‘chi machine’ in module 2 feels fantastic when when performed by the therapist. I often use a similar movement in my yoga classes… the ‘windscreen wiper’ move. So it’s wonderful to be able to offer the added moves I’ve learnt from this video, to my students.

The push-pull combination move in module 3 is taking a bit of practice for me… remembering to use my whole body! lol  but i do love the circular foot bending move as this replicates our ‘stomach churning’ that we do in our yoga classes… great for digestion!! 🙂

I have found that my yogic breathing helps immensely with relaxing myself and not becoming too nervous. But my massage clients are not as quiet as yours as I’m always asking “Does that feel ok?” “Do you like this?” “Does this feel weird?” hahahaaaa!!!

It was great to move onto the legs in module 5 but I did feel a bit awkward trying to stabilize the foot by ‘hooking my foot over it’ so just ended up using my knee.

Looking forward to moving onto the next modules.

Be back soon (hopefully!!) lol

Namaste

Kindest Regards

Hi Lisa, good to meet you here in the forum. So you are from Perth. I have been there – nice city! I used to get my yearly Thai visas from the Thai consulate there, but then they shut the consulate down for some reason.

I also replied to your post in the certification section where you posted it. The two posts are duplicates – was that intentional or did you hit the ‘paste’ button by mistake?

Hi Shama,

This is my first experience with a forum so I was a little unsure what to do! lol I posted in the introductions first then realised that I was supposed to post in the certification thread too, so just copied!

I will continue my progress in the later posts 🙂

Kindest Regards
