I am a newly certified massage therapist based in Belize, dedicated to promoting wellness, mobility, and overall physical well-being through thoughtful and client-centered bodywork.

My interest in Thai massage began after experiencing my first session earlier this year. I was immediately drawn to its distinctive combination of rhythmic compression, assisted stretching, movement, and mindful body mechanics. The experience inspired me to explore this traditional practice more deeply and broaden my approach to therapeutic massage.

As I continue developing professionally, my goal is to thoughtfully integrate selected Thai massage movements and techniques into my existing massage routines—complementing my current skills while creating a more dynamic, individualized, and well-rounded experience for each client.

Hi Robbie,

Welcome to Thai Healing Massage Academy, and thank you for the introduction. Congratulations on getting certified this year.

Your goal makes good sense and it is a common one here. Many of our students come from a Western massage background and are looking to fold Thai Massage into the work they already do rather than switch over to it completely. The rhythmic compression, assisted stretching and body mechanics you noticed in your session are the pieces that carry over most naturally.

One suggestion as you get started. Work through the modules in order the first time, including the parts you may not plan to use right away. The sequences build on each other and the body mechanics make a lot more sense in context. Once you have been through the whole thing, pulling out individual techniques for your own sessions becomes much easier and you will have a better sense of what fits where.

You have lifetime access, so there is no rush. Take it at whatever pace works around your practice.

If questions come up as you go, about technique, positioning or adapting something for a particular client, post them in the student forum, and we'll get back to you asap.

Warm regards,

Ashlene from Thai Healing Massage Academy
