Hello folks, My name is Brenda Cockburn, and I am a sports massage therapist from the UK. I'm so glad I stumbled across this website. At last I have finally found the missing link in all my therapies!!! Just watched the first module and I am very impressed. Looking forward to the next few months.
I'm qualified in Sports massage, kinesiotaping, deep tissue, holistic massage, hot stones, lymphatic drainage, seated onsite massage, pregnancy massage, reiki & meditation. Aromatherapy, Reflexology.
Hopefully after doing this and an accredited UK course in Thai I will be able to travel to Chang Mai to study some advanced units to further my experience.
Hi Brenda, welcome to our forum. You have quite a massage resume already, so you won't have any problems learning Thai Massage from this online training, I think.
You will be amazed how far this course will take you. Actually it won't be easy for you to find much more advanced material in Chiang Mai. You will be immersed in Thai Massage training through this course for the next 6 months, and you will see that this course is far from basic.
Visiting Chiang Mai is definitely a good idea for many reasons. I always encourage anyone who can swing it to come here, although your main take-away will probably not necessarily be more advanced Thai Massage. A little while later in this program you will find a video where my colleague Deon de Wet (Thai Massage teacher from the US) and I discuss exactly this topic. I think you will find it very interesting.
